I have a 99 4runner that Has a Long-e LE-A 6500 installed in it and it works fine.
This is my dilema. I decided to put in a remote start unit and I was given the Audiovox AS-9075 unit as a gift so i decided to install it. Im 95% thru with the install but I am Totally brain dead as to wear the yellow and black wire get spliced. Is it to the Starter kill switch side of the engine or does it go spliced somehow to the alarms positive input? The constant 12v that im using for the alarm .. In the audiovox manual it states the following::
< size=1 face=Arial>< size=1 face=Arial>YELLOW w/ BLACK Tracer Wire: + 12 Volt Alarm By - Pass Output
NOTE: YOU MUST DISCONNECT THE IGNITION INPUT OF THE ALARM FROM ANY OTHER WIRE THAT IT IS
PRESENTLY CONNECTED TO IN THE VEHICLE. < size=1 face=Arial>< size=1 face=Arial>
This wire provides a 500mA + 12 Volt transistorized output when the ignition key is turned to the “ON” position, and 0 Volts when the ignition key is “OFF” and when the vehicle is running under the control of the remote starter. < size=1 face=Arial>< size=1 face=Arial>
This wire should be connected to the ignition input of the alarm system. The Yellow w/ Black wire output will allow you to remote start the vehicle while leaving the alarm armed, and to lock/
unlock the doors while running under control of the remote start unit.
Where does this wire go connected? On the alarm side or the vehicle switch side...
Car is just sitting there and im so close to finished. Someone please get me out of my mental block

The Audiovox manuals are horrendous.
The yellow/black wire provides an ignition output, EXCEPT when the remote starter is on. In other words, the yellow/black puts out ignition only when you start the car by key.
Many (most?) aftermarket alarms will "see" the ignition input as a trigger zone; if the alarm sees the ignition turn on while armed, the alarm will sound.
So, I'm not sure what an LE-A 6500 is, but is that an aftermarket alarm?
If so, disconnect its ignition wire from the car, and instead connect it to the yellow/black. That way, when you activate the remote starter, it won't "see" that the ignition is on.
Also, does that alarm have a shock sensor? If it does, don't be surprised if the engine's vibrations trigger the shock sensor upon remote start. Your options at that point will be to (A) decrease the sensor's sensitivity, (B) disconnect the sensor altogether, or (C) use relay(s) to interrupt the sensor during remote start.

So frustrated... I finished connecting everything and NOTHING... It Doesnt Work at all.. Have to see if I review my steps. Maybe i Burned it with the yellow wire connect... Maybe its not compatible with this Chinese alarm. Well now Ive caught a cold working late in the cold so its going to have to wait!!!!!!!!!
Yes the Alarm still works!!
Maybe ill rip out this alarm and get a unit with a built in remote start!!!!

A couple quick things, did you connect the BLACK/ white wire to the switch? Is the switch on? If you tap the blue trigger wire to ground what happens?
Explain your wiring to us... ------------- Mike M2

Well Im back on my feet. What a hell of a cold...
Well I retraced my wiring and seems all is ok.. I tapped the BluE wire like it was suggested by Mike M2 and the truck tries to crank but it doesnt start..
I have several questions? here goes
There are to mini plugs. One that provides output to control the doorlocks when the remote starts and shut off but those seems to be for relays. The other has the ones that you you use to trigger the remote start with the lock unlock lock feature.
Do i connec these wires? If i use those I cant use the blue wire that just used and started the truck.. Secondly im back to the yellow / black wire? Where do I splice it.. it sais to disconnect the ignition wire from the alarm and splice the yellow black to the igniton wire of the alarm? Are they talking about the wires at the column? Are they talking about the Starter kill relay wire...
Some one hit me over the head... I though i would be finished by now... what a mess and what a challenge... If im confusing you guys im sorry but this has me loopy LREADY :)
im going to take pictures next....
tHANKS IN ADVANCE...

Here's how I have things wired. The alarm is a Long-E LE-A6500 Car Alarm System and is working well..
Im going to go thru the wiring of the remote start and were they are spliced. Maybe Someone will Pick up Were I went wrong.. If it get Lenghtly I apologize in advance.
Here goes:
6 Pin Main Power Harness:
Red w/WHITE trace wire- to vehicle harness white and red (12 volt source)
Red Wire - To vehicles white (12 volt Source) This truck has 2 12volt source
Yellow Wire - Starter output. Spliced here with starter interupt relay. on the starter side.
Purple - Spliced to the BlueRed wire in harness
Blue - spliced to the BlackYellow wire in harness
Green - spliced to BlackRed in harness
Black - Ground
Black w/WHITE - to switch supplied with remote start to disable the unit.
Brown w/BLACK tracer to Brakes switch for Positive Shutdown
Yellow wBLACK tracer wire : +12 Volt Alarm By-pass output- This is the one i mentioned in my earlier post? Right now its spliced with my Alarm white wire which is supposed to see 12 volts when engine is running . Is this right? Were do I go actually put this wire.
White Wires to dimmer switch
Dark Blue/Black trace: trigger input - Not connected but when i ground thruck tries to start but only cranks..
As far as the wiring for the 4 pin axxiliary. should i wire those up or do i use the three pin keyless entry uprade section of the instructions to remote star.
If not how do i wire the blue wire to trigger the alarm?
Well thats it. Any other questions before I rip out the Remote Start ?

There is a possibility that the 4-Runner needs a bypass module. What happens when you place a key in the ignition switch, but not turned, and try a remote start by tapping the Blue/Black to ground? ------------- Soldering is fun!

I was told that only the Limited Editions of the 99 Toyota 4runner need the bypass module? Not the SR5. What would I look for ? When I tap the Blueblack to grnd it starts to crank but no start..

There would be an antenna ring around the end of the ignition switch and another connector in the switch area. If a plain hardware metal key starts and runs the 4-Runner, you don't have a transponder immobilizer system.
If present. the transponder connector would be wired as below :
4Runner 99-02 5 Pin connector AMP pin 1 WHITE/ Blue (DATA) Ignition switch Code pin 2 Gray/Red (DATA) Ignition switch RXCK pin 3 RED / Black (DATA) Ignition switch TXCT pin 4 Pink/Black (DATA) Ignition switch Ground pin 5 Brown (-) Ignition switch ------------- Soldering is fun!

Yeah I have a meta key that starts the Truck. I also Double checked and there is just a Regular ignition on the Truck.
