Hi,

When did the Viper 5904 come out?

I am thinking of replacing my Viper 5900 (about 5 years since I installed it).

The 5900 is starting to go. Should I get a 5904 or 5704 or is there something way cooler coming out in the near future from Viper?

Thanks.

5904 manual has a 2011 date on it.

Reached the public around Feb this year, simply the 59 has 800MHz frequency range against 400MHz of the 57 with greater range.
AFAIK everything else is the same though the remotes might be different.

Are you saying that because the 5704 runs at lower frequency of 400mhz it has a longer range than the 5904 that runs at 800mhz? I'm surprised that they run on different frequencies.

All the 57XX versus 59XX are like that, I believe they use a different modulation as well.
Trivia:- Haven't seen any 59XX officially in Europe because the upper frequency ain't allowed except as very low power stuff, i.e. a few yards, data and control in buildings.
