Truck already has power windows and locks, but no keyless entry.
I am looking at a couple systems, but wanted to get an opinion or two on things.
Either one has the ability to unlock all doors on a second tap of the unlock button. I have to use another wire that will send a pulse to accomplish this.Do I just take that wire and attach it to the actual unlock wire and then connect it to the brain?
They also have the ability to light up the dome light when unlocked, but it appears that I would have to use a relay for this?
Everything else looks ok.

Driver priority unlock is a factory RKE function that the viper can also trigger. With out a RKE module you will have to wire to the Drivers Mtr Unlock wire (Which you will need to find) to the viper unlock and the viper second unlock to the power unlock. Also with no RKE set all unlock/lock/second unlock to single pulse, as you are controlling the relays and drivers door lock direct.

I've roughed up this diagram for the Avital with DEI instructions, usually more accurate, can't find a reference to the A/Vox in their manuals:-tacoma.bmp
Apologies for the poor layout, watching the football (soccer) at the same time, we lost away to the Champions after leading the whole damn game, so I'm a bit tense.

howie I don't think the un-lock motor wire needs to be cut as it is behind the factory relays and the negative trigger in on the otherside of the relay. The only thing is the drivers door will get unlocked twice but that is the way all the GM, and Mopars here are setup from the factory.

I cut the unlock MOTOR wire as a safety matter ASSUMING it sits on ground.
If then you do a direct connection you will blow the fuse.

What are you referring to as a direct connection that will blow the fuse?
Also what fuse will blow?

I've assumed that as a motor wire it's resting at ground. Thus if you apply a voltage directly to it you will blow the fuse on the violet.
Think 5 wire. In fact DEI states it's a 5 wire set-up.

Use the Avital unit, it's better(and we carry both). It will give you the needed relays biult in to do 2 stage unlock. Also, use the lock/unlock wires at the front of the fuse box. Other locations will fall asleep with the BCM and stop working after a while.

That's why a relay should be used for the motor wire, as the trigger wires are connected to factory relays and I don't think it's a good idea to cut factory wires if you don't have to.

I did, in that diagram, used the in built Avital relays.

It is impossible to wire a relay to the unlock motor leg without cutting the wire in half.

Exactly what I was trying to explain.
Did nobody notice the word "CUT" on my diagram?

I should have looked at the diagram for the 2101 didn't know it had a common internal relay as I haven't used those units.

I thought I was the token Jew here.
I told an Iraqi poster some months ago that the nearest place to install his Viper was 500 miles to the west in Israel. He didn't comment.
Somehow I can't see me making Platinum for the third time, hell I've been kicked downstairs more often than a US General caught with his pants down. They never demoted Eisenhower (a nice Jewish boy).
Talk about much ado about nothing, I wouldn't have accepted his resignation.
