im in the processes of installing my Compustar in my 96 Civic cx, iv installed the same alarm in friends cars without any troubles, im trying to get the highbeams to flash as well as the horn to honk when the siren goes off. iv been searching all night and cant find anything.

i basically just need a relay pinout/diagram of the highbeam flash.

the compusstar cm6000 has a 2nd parking light flash output (CN3 pin 3) which i can throw a relay to and wire it up to the highbeam to my car, But if i do that won't the highbeams flash when i arm/disarm the car?

as well as the horn output, it is a (-) output but if i wire this up will the horn only go off when the alarm is triggered?

any help would be awesome! as these two are in the way of me finishing.. i Dont need to wire those two up, but i want to as my area is pretty sketchy at night.

The only way is via the brown (-) horn output, you will need 2 relays and 2 1N4004 diodes because you have 2 high beam wires, RED / white and RED / blue. Horn trigger wire is blue to grey. Also a 15amp constant relay feed.
The problem is as you say you will get headlights on when you arm and disarm unless you silence the chirps.
I know some DEI product has a second horn output, it can be programmed to sound ONLY on alarm trigger not arm/disarm.

ahh wow thats awesome, thats exactly what i was looking for. i thought i could just get the highbeam wire from the switch which was i think RED / blue - one wire. i didnt know it was both left and right. in the diagram you have made up i dont even need a relay for the horn? just for the two highbeams?

and that does work out as i normally mute the chirps when it arms/disarms.

thank you for the help!

i looked at the wiring diagram and the horn is a (-) white wire which is -250mA. wouldnt i need a relay for that? unless you are refering to the Siren output which is + (brown wire).

thanks for all the info.

In theory 250ma might be more than the horn output so a relay to boost the current might be needed, I'm afraid I'm not sure, I've personally never needed a relay in these circumstances, try it, if only for a second or so you won't damage the 6000. If it doesn't work you'll need a relay.

that sounds good, ill test it out. but you were talking about the Horn output (-) white? or the siren output (+) brown?  im thinking it will workout if i silence the siren upon arm/disarm and hook up my highbeams to that. that would def work. then ill just use the -250ma horn output for the horn, ill test out the horn direct then if that doesnt work ill hook up a relay. but thats for the diagram saves me a lot of time searching haha. much appreciated.

actually another question, for sure honda/acura uses left and right for highbeam connection? i cant just grab the single wire from the switch at the steering column and trace it down further into the dash ? it would mean id only need one relay. ill test it out.

I thought the brown was neg output hence my diagram.
As for the headlights your last line was absolutely correct, test!

If i hook up the headlights to the sirens (+) output would the diagram you sent still work?

- wouldnt the headlights just stay on when the alarm goes off as the siren doesnt pulse correct? is there a capacitor or something id need to wire in to make the highbeams flash on an off? or a secondary relay to make them flash?

thanks!

The diagram is correct if the siren output is (-) and it is according to my diagram for the 6000. Please double check.
Of course the headlights will stay on, you could modify a pair of flasher units or better can you program that siren output to oscillate on/off?
Other wise no they will stay on.

Just had a thought, I bet that white secondary will do it and it probably flashes on and off. The down side is that it will activate on arm and disarm so back to square one.

hmm yeah cuz the wiring diagram on my compustar cm6000 says that the siren is a (+) output not a (-) output, the horn honk is (-). is there a way i could modify the relay wiring to support the positive output instead of the negative?

thanks for all your help so far.

My diagram shows white plug CN3 pin 17 white wire (-) 250ma output.
Default pulses so this would be exactly what you want, use this instead of the brown in my diagram.
