Hi all,
I've been dealing with a weird issue for a long time. When ever since I installed my 530t, opening my hood pin has caused my windows to roll up.

Since the issue is related to the hood pin, I started diagnosing from there. The hood is actually the trunk, so it's wired to the blue trunk/instant trigger wire along with my tilt sensor.

So I added diodes to those two wires and the problem seems to be solved. This is great, but am I missing something here? Why would diode isolating the instant trigger fix the windows rolling up when I open the hood (and ground the instant trigger/tilt sensor)?

The only thing I can think of is that grounding the tilt sensor's instant trigger output is causing the ground when armed (hooked up to both the 530t and the tilt sensor) to go to ground as well, and that makes the 530t think I armed the alarm.

Anyway, is it correct to diode isolate the instant trigger to fix my problem? Or should I diode isolate the ground while armed instead? Or should I do both?

Also curious how you guys wire in the diodes. I was thinking I'd solder and heat shrink them into the wires. My alarm installer shop crimped them. I'll post pics when I get home.

The diode blocking you've done is enough. Strange I would have tested continuity from the blue to the GWA wire but that shouldn't happen.
How good is your ground, test the voltage between the black and red wires at the alarm with the battery charged.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.
