I'm trying the Blade TB for the first time with a Compustar 6000 install on a 07 4Runner and I can't seem to get it to work. I had the Blade flashed when I ordered it (I didn't want to buy the cable and don't have a windows based computer). When I inserted it I got a green light for a few seconds but when I insert the key I get nothing (supposed to get RED / green followed by green when it's programmed.) I checked the connections, took it out, back in, and same thing. I tried holding the button as I insert, got a red flash followed by solid red for 2 seconds then tried the key again - nothing. Did I reset the flash when I held the button down? Does that mean I have to reflash it, or could something else be going on. The rest of the alarm install works fine. Thanks
There are two possible firmwares that could have been flashed onto the Blade module that support your vehicle.
Fortunately there is no difference between them for wiring or programming. There is no way to verify if and
what firmware is actually on the module without the ADS USB cable.
Holding the button during insertion will not erase the flashed program, only reset it to a "just after flash" condition.
Are you sure the Blades WHITE/ Black Keysense wire is connected to the vehicles GREEN/ YELLOW Keysense wire?

Soldering is fun!
The firmware says Blade-TB-TL 3.1 from the updater printout when it was flashed. It also has the correct car listed (07 4Runner) so I'm thinking the flash was ok. I checked all the connections again including testing the G-Y keysense wire at the Blade harness and it grounds when the key goes in. The key is 40 bit, not 80, so that can't be it.
The only thing I can think of is I didn't solder the connections which may be a bigger issue for the code and txct wires. Once I get more solder wire that will be the next thing I do...
Turns out I plugged in the blade wiring harness upside down-it fits both ways. Oops. Works great now.
That would explain why the Blade did not see the Keysense wire to start programming. You must have gotten an older Blade harness. The CM6x00 series brains and the newer Blade harnesses have a latch on them. The older harnesses were for the CM5x00 brains that did not support the latch ( no cut-out ) and only had locating "nubs" at the edges of the connector.
