99 ford escort avital 2101l

Have a couple of questions about it. Been installing an Avital 2101L (along with SPAL aftermarket power locks) in my 99 Ford Escort LX and most of it's gone well but I still have a few questions I'm left with:

1) Should the horn function on lock/unlock with just the lock/unlock buttons and NOT with the trunk button pressed first, then the lock or unlock button? The latter works so I know it's wired correctly but is there some setting in the module to make it always confirm audibly with one touch?

2) Is H1/15 (SW Ignition Input) required to be hooked up if I'm not going to use the unit as a starter kill or to control the door locks with the ignition switch? Easy enough to wire that up but if I'm not going to need it I won't bother.

3) The manual implicitly states to not wire the trunk release output to a solenoid or something else high powered but can that be run to the factory switch directly (without using a relay)? Factory switch wires run to ground on one side of the switch (black wire) and to the factory door lock/unlock relay on the other side of the switch (GREEN/ black). Wires themselves are VERY thin so it doesn't seem like they could carry much current but I'm not sure if it's safe to tap that directly.

Not sure about the first half but you can definitely run your trunk release wire to the vehicle wire at the switch

OK that sounds good. I read the manual again and think I answered #2. System has to have that wire connected to power with key in run to program the unit no matter if it'll be used for starter kill or ignition controlled locks (or not).

What about question 1... that's what I am wondering as well.
