Hi all, i have a 2006 chevy trailblazer and my alarm installation has been giving me nothing but headaches. Me and my friend who does all my electrical work in my car cant figure out this Bypass module for anything. We connected the ground and power wires as described in the manual. Then we connected the door lock from the bypass to the door lock wire of the viper module. We also did the same for the door unlock modules. Plugged in the harness and the one light started to flash. I held down the button because that what your supposed to do and then it turned solid. After this i started my car then let it run for a few seconds. When i started the horn beeped twice, then turned my car off and hooked up the data wire. After doing all this, i go hold the button to program the module farther as described in step 2 of the instructions and i get the flashing lights but nothing after. Then i tried to unlock/lock the doors and nothing. So we go to reset the module and try again, and the thing is stuck. right when you plug it in it stays on red and i cant get back to the platform selection. I figured it was on 1 because thats the default and started the car. Programmed. Held the button down to set my preferences, and the LED flashed then the horn beeped twice at this time instead of after starting the car which is weird. i turn the car off and nothing. The process keeps repeating over and over. Can anyone help me as to get the locks to work?
and not to bump but i was wondering if it would be easier to get the Fortin EVO-ALL bypass.
I haven't used a GMDLBP module but the XpressKit install guide appears to be the typical confusing DEI
document. The module comes set at Platform 1, which is correct for your vehicle. The install sequence
seems to be :
Connect the necessary GMDLBP harness wires first before plugging the connector into the module BUT
do not connect the Violet wire to the OBD2 Pin 2 wire yet. The minimum wires are Green, Blue, Pink/White
Red & Black. ( The Brown wire is only used for a remote start install. )
Plug in the GMDLBP connector.
Connect ( solder ) the GMDLBP Violet wire to Pin 2 of the OBD2 connector.
Press & hold program button until LED blinks once to confirm setting is saved & ready to program to vehicle.
This locks in the Type 1 platform.
Release programming button and the LED will come ON solid. Start the vehicle with the ignition key: The LED
will turn off confirming the GMDLBP is programmed to the vehicle.
I don't see any way of resetting the bypass module and getting it back to Platform Type 1. If it has been changed
from Type 1, you might have to manually cycle thru the selection process, watching the LED blink pattern, to get
back to Type 1. Just follow the complete 4 step instructions on Page 3 of the install guide.
If you were thinking of switching to another bypass module, you might consider the Fortin INT-SL or
INT-SL+. They do everything you want ( & more ) and should be less expensive than the EVO-ALL. Here
is a link to a remote start install pictorial on your vehicle using the INT-SL bypass module :

program.
