Does any one know of a new actuator that will work with the new '03 corolla w/o any power dook locks? The door lock system is controlled by cables and not the normal rods. I know how to deal with the normal metal rod setup but not the new cable one. Any ideas? ------------- VSSH

I had just been reading this post, which sounds similar to yours. I like Car-Stuff's idea....maybe you can drill a hole, and then just connect the normal type of rod to that.

I have been working on newer 2003's and I have only found that you need to go to the dealer and get factory motors!

I saw one of those cars at my shop for power locks when they were new...I wasn't the one working on it, but I saw it apart.
I noticed the installer had simply removed a 3/4" length of sleeving from the cable. The cable inside is still somewhat stiff, and he attached the actuator rods right there.
