I just finished an install on a 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac and after wrapping everything up I noticed the LED was solid.

First thoughts was that it was Valet Mode... however the car still starts and honks when locked/unlocked.

Any ideas?

Try pressing the F button twice and then the Unlock button,  see if it goes away.

Still nothing - I hold down the F key for a couple seconds until it blinks and then again and it then blinks twice over and over again then unlock and it stays.

Also tried two quick F key's and then unlock and nothing.

Have you tried to use the button on the antenna to exit the Valet Mode?  Page 18 of the owners manual.

Turn the ignition on then off, within 10 seconds press the button on the antenna to enter or exit the Valet Mode.

Only other thing I could think of would be to erase all remotes from the unit, pull all fuses to the unit for 10 min, and then reprogram the remote back to the unit.

Kinda odd that it will not exit Valet Mode. I have just done it several time with the remote on two 5301 systems and a 5701 system. No issues in each case.

I'll give that a try. I basically unplugged the entire unit last time for about 10-15 minutes and it seemed to keep it's programming.
