This vehicle refuses to start. It is becoming more often now. I unlock the vehicle with the remote and turn. All of the warning lights come on but the vehicle will not so much as turn over. Sometimes when I disconnect and reconnect the battery, it starts as if nothing has ever happened. I always unlock and turn the key within the two minutes. Also the airbag light has started to flash permanently, can this be part of the same problem? No one I have asked can find the fuse or the sensor for the airbag. Although I have found your wiring diagram for this vehicle on one of your forums, I am not sure if I can just remove the Factory Alarm disarm green wire, in purple box, or indeed if it is an immobiliser matter, not looked at this yet, but you may want to comment on that. ------------- Gill.

First check your battery and engine bay fuse connections, then the ignition switch. Look for corrosion on the battery terminals and the engine bay fuse box.
I suspect the ignition switch.
This has nothing to do with the factory disarm, if that were so the alarm would trigger off, either on door opening and or ignition being turned on.
BTW, the Blazer was never sold in the UK.
You might have an Aussie or Japanese spec. if RH/Drive.

Thank you for your speedy response. I will try tomorrow. You have put my mind at rest about the alarm. Chevrolet made 700 Blazers for the UK Market.

I never knew, I Wiki'd it after I responded and OFFICIALLY it was made in Louisiana and 2 other plants in the US, Venezuela and Brazil for Latin America and Indonesia with a 2.2 diesel engine.
Indonesia is RH/drive so maybe.
I also believe the S10 was built in Central Asia, Kazakhstan?.
I worked on loads during the late 70s early 80s as grey imports.

First and foremost do a drop test on the battery, it may show 12Volts (12.6 at rest is optimum) but may be on its way out.
At the ignition switch you have the following.
Red and red white constants.
Yellow starter.
Pink ignition 1.
White ignition 2.
Orange ACC1.
Brown ACC 2.
The last 2 are very important, if they don't "make" that's what throws the warning lights.
Test all with a DMM.

Thanks, I also think that the battery is goiing and also the battery in the remote too. They are the originals.
Will test the ignition as described tomorrow.
Thanks again. ------------- Gill.
