I have finally completed my Clifford Avantguard 4 alarm install, the only thing left is to deactivate the factory alarm. When the alarm is set and I unlock the clifford the factory alarm goes off. I figured if I find the wires that go to the switch connect them together it will tell the factory unit that the door is always unlocked. Would this work? In my car the power door locks and the factory anti-theft control is all in one unit. I have a 97 Toyota Supra TT 6-speed. If this won't work , does any body have any  suggestions?

I haven't done a Supra specifically, but most Toyotas work the same way. If you insert the key into one of the doors and turn it, the factory alarm will arm and disarm.

First, simply use your key to verify that this is how your car works. Then, find the wires that test as a ground when you turn the key back and forth.

It's also a wise idea to not just disarm the factory alarm.......but to use the key-cylinder wire to arm it too. Even though your Clifford is far superior to the factory Toyota alarm, two working alarms are always better than one.

How do you make them both work without having to unlock the door after you disarm the clifford?
