Has anyone done one of these ? If so what bypass did you use ? Any tips ? everything I'm reading is saying they will needed to lose a key

Not sure if its the same as the golf or vento. Idata Fortin and xpresskit all list a bypass just didn't know if one was better than the other for the VW I haven't done many Vw

Joe; I don't have the knowledge or experience myself but reading posts from people who's experience and knowledge/judgement I'd trust, I'd say Fortin wins hands down.

Don't believe any manufacturers' module handles the transponder immobilizer system. Still need a "key in the box".  ------------- Soldering is fun!

Go to be a 556U with no antenna loop and done "Euro Style" as per the instructions then.
If I were doing this I'd make a logical assumption yes I know, assumptions and logic with VAG CAN systems ain't the best of partnerships but to me it appears that under the skin it's a Golf/Vento.

How it works in a nutshell:-
VAG change their CAN protocols and parameters every three to 4 years.
They start with the relatively simpler brands such as SEAT and Skoda, then VW, get the system working then into Audi and Porsche.
I'm not 100% sure about Porsche, still a lot of independent parts.
Not including Chinese, Mexican Golf/Ventos etc.
I think though that the EOS is still European made.

thanks Howie and kreg I know I will need the 556u that's fine with the customer I will most likely use the Fortin piece although I may try the I data alca just because I have one in my tool box was mainly concerned about locks and factory alarm really don't want to run wires in the doors if I can avoid it

Not sure about the Mk V Golf on which this is based* but on the Mk IV it was quite easy to get into the doors, no nasty Molex plugs.
*Turns out to be built in Portugal, that's a new one on me.
Kregg if you're working nights tonight and you're near a computer Wed. morning around 3-5 am Eastern time, Google Map North London with traffic. First day of the Olympics and the gridlock should be extreme!
