Vehicle - 2005 Ford F150 SuperCrew with OEM keyless entry

I picked up a couple Autocommand 25622 OEM Keyfob Remote Starters, I got a great deal and figured I would try the install myself, what a nightmare.

I have the wiring diagram from the Directed Electronics site, so I thought it should be a piece of cake.  I "Think" I have everything hooked up, but nothing; no starting. The key still starts the truck, so I know the truck runs. I installed an XpressKit PKFM-PKFORD for the PATS immobilizer; again per the wiring diagram with no obvious issues. The truck has keyless entry so I attached the 4 door trigger wires at the BCM with diodes and attached to the RED / Whilte activation wire.

My gut tells me the issue is with the activation wire, when I attempt to start; nothing. When I attempt to "toggle" in programming; nothing. These both require a pulse from the activation wire.

Is there something I am  missing, I have been reading toms of forum posts and can't find a singles instance applicable to mine, please help make this darn thing work.

After looking at the install guide, could you list what wires from the remote starter you have connected to what wires on the truck. Also  you r PKFM wires.

Well, a couple updates.

I was able to have the brain "Learn the Tach" as it states in the manual, the LED displayed the appropriate number of flashes. At one point tonight, I must have hit a few buttons on the key fob and it started like it wanted to start; the parking lights flashed and I heard the relays clicking in the starter brain but still no start. It's not blowing any fuses, so I'm still really torn what direction to take next.

I would check the bypass. Remote start it and see if the Red security light on top of the dash comes on solid or is flashing. If flashing try reprogramming bypass.
Let us know what you find.

The wiring looks correcton the remote start past, not listed is the heavy gauge black for ground? I would check all of the connections and insure the harness are plugged in tight.   Are your connections soldered?   When you say it, "started like it wanted to start", does that mean it cranked? or the starter kicked in and quit right away?

On the TX and RX wires, I have found on my daughters car, a pair of wires the same color as the tx and rx. It was the wrong pair. Couldn't get the bypass to program. Had to dig around the bundle of wires found the tx/rx wires, smaller gauge the what I had first used.  Just a thought on that part.

To answer a few questions, Yes the heavy ground is installed. I soldered and shrinkwrapped all the connections. I never have really gotten a "crank" perse, but lights have flashed and I've heard the relays clicking in the brain sounding like it wanted to start.

How can I test the activation input? The RED / white wire into the remote start brain is the activation input and I want to be sure that is working.

I will double check the TX & RX wires, I noticed on the DEI site they even mention to swap those around. I haven't noticed the factory LED on the dash, I have been watching the LED on bypass; and it doesn't appear to be confirming programmed yet.

Have you tried putting a key in the ignition barrel, don't turn it, and then tried remote starting? That might verify a bypass issue.

Maybe orange from the bypass needs to go to the Dark Blue/Light Green for ignition?  Never worked with a PKFM before.

Looking at a Fortin Keyoverride all for the ford it shows NC for the ignition at the pats connector. If you change it reprogram the bypass.
