I installed a remote starter on my 2000 hyundai elantra.........all went well exept the horn.......I'm trying to connect the horn chirp......where can i find the wire with ease inside the car.......i went by the specific wiring diagram for my car....but with no luck....will it be easier to go straight to the horn.....i did run an extra wire from inside the car to the horn area.......there are two wires going to the horn....can i just splice into it....is this possible?????

first you need to test the two wires at the horn and get the proper polarity of the wires. next is your remote start system, is the horn wire a (+) or a (-) polarity. if both wires are the same polarity then hook the together and it should work fine. if they are two different polarities then you must put a relay in line to get the polarities the same.

Hi jasgal, if the horn output of your alarm is only rated at about 200 mA and you want to connect directly to the horn, you'll need to use a relay, but  you can find the lead that activates the coil side of the horn relay near the steering column and connect your (-) output from your alarm directly to it. The correct lead should be BLACK/ White and will show 12V+ when the horn is not sounding and show ground when you sound the horn. If you still can't find that lead and need info on how to connect a relay, let us know.
