I just installed a Viper 5701 in my 2011 Ford F150 XLT Ecoboost. I am using a Fortin Evo-ride bypass.
The blue LED on the viper antenna is solid. The doors lock and unlock. When I unlock, the fob buzzes 4 times, and the function light blinks. The siren also chirps 4 times. If I leave the viper box unplugged for a while, it will unlock normally the first few times, then go back to buzzing at me.
I can not get it to start my truck. It flashes 7 times, which according to the manual, means "Manual transmission mode is enabled and not initialized". I have followed the instructions repeatedly to attempt to access the menus to change this, but I cannot.
I have read that the solid LED usually means that I am in valet mode, but I have tried many different ways to get out of it, all have failed.
I have tried:
opening a door, pressing lock, unlock, lock.
Turn the key on then off. Within 10 seconds press and release the valet switch.
Pressing function twice followed by unlock.
Keeping the unit unplugged over night.
I am out of ideas, can anyone help?
You may need to swing by a shop that has a dei programmer. See if they will let you tip an installer to program the brain for you with the programmer, or buy one online. They run around $90-$150.

Do you see any other way? Is there a way to reset the viper back to default?
I don't know of any other way, I am sure one exists, but no I don't know what it is. I believe the bitwriter is required to do a reset as well. Awesome piece of hardware, but kind of stupid that you need to buy a $100 scan tool (the bitwritier) to get full use of your system. I guess thats to drive business to us installers who it makes more sense to buy such a device since we use it daily. Sorry I can't be much more help here.

Thanks for the advice.
I have an appointment with a local shop on Monday. They agreed to reset the viper for me.
Oh, and I figured out what was going on when I was unlocking and I was getting error buzzes. This seems to occur when the alarm goes off. Since I was doing some testing, I kept tripping the alarm, and thus getting a warning buzz that the alarm had gone off. The only thing I have not figured out yet, is how to clear that warning without power cycling the unit.
