i know this is a bit off topic but id like to know how many hrs labour would some of u guys charge for the removal and re-installstion of a complete interior of a 80 trans am. this includes dash, carpet, headliner, seats, doorpanels, etc. customer wants to change the whole thing. I need to now how much to charge them.
i would think that, that would take a few days.
there is no fast way to do that.
i would say about 2-3 days

he's right... it took me about 3-4 days to change the interior of my toyota supra. as far as how much to charge... i myself would charge about $500-$600 because you have to change out the dash too. keep in mind that swapping out a dash is hard and frustrating.

If your ears aren't bleeding... it's not loud enough.
Doing something you have never done before and have no idea how long it would take is just asking to lose money.
Charge hourly. If he's not willing to go that way, don't do it.
I say give him an estimate. I'm never done half of the stuff you listed, but 2-3 days sounds reasonable.
3 days X 8 hours X $45hr = $1080
I am doing the exact same thing to an 86 Trans-Am (super clean) and to tell you the turth, 2 days would be not long enough. You will come up with many, many surprises PLUS the client will want to clean, fix, change, re-organize, install sound barrier, etc. as you went along.
Quote 3 days minimum with a per hour charge above that - it will be easy AND it will not... actually the 86 that I have been working on is my own and it has been a winter project (still in progress) but I have been fixing/repairing/cleaning all the components.
