Notes:
*1 When doing remote start, this wire must be isolated from the keyswitch with the ignition relay. See direct fax document #1077.      *2 The BCM is located just to the right side of the radio.  Remove the radio to access.  *3 To avoid dome light delay, use RED / yellow at the driver door pin for the driver door and red at the passenger door pin for the passenger door.  Isolate each door trigger with diodes.  *4 There are 2 blue/red wires in the ignition harness. The correct ignition wire is the heavier gauge one and it has 1 silver hash mark. The incorrect wire has 2 silver hash marks.

A lot of differences with the DEI ReadyRemote info :  https://www.readyremote.com/main.asp?make=Toyota

Soldering is fun!

As Kregg said in practice there were loads of short cuts to the above list.
If a factory alarm is present remove the "brain". Doors, trunk hood, locks, ignition, lights.
To the side of the inst. cluster.
Or door and front hood triggers at rear of inst. cluster, just one connection.
Locks can be picked up more easily at the lock switch.
Don't attempt to remove centre console/armrest for the window raisers unless you intend to place a proximity detector there, you have to remove both chairs to get at the console fixing screws.
Window motor wires are at the BCM, in the UK and Japan it's above the accelerator pedal.
There's room to mount a siren outside the spare wheel compartment facing the road.
A lot of physical work involved but not technically hard.

Just remembering that the UK had one touch window operation on the driver's side so you had to go to the BCM anyway for that window to pick up the motor wires.
Original alarm if present had a white plug, that plug should still be there even if no alarm.

I just looked at the ready remote list, incidentally Kregg, if you use the link it gives you Honda/Acura colours so go to their home page, then "Wiring Diagrams" then select your vehicle.
I was thinking about that isolation note, test using the continuity on a DMM between ign. 1 and ign. 2 when the key is turned to ignition. If not continuous, then the isolation isn't required.
