Hey Guys, need some help here.

I have a 2011 GMC Sierra Ext Cab with a Viper 5902 Alarm/Start Combo interfaced to the vehicle with the idatalink module.

The idata link and viper are connected via the data wire method.

I have had this installed since january and have not had any issues with it until now.

When i lock my truck via the viper remote, i get 1 chirp for the lock/arm and then another chirp signaling an error in the system.
My remote will then tell me that my trunk is open.

Now, if you're with me so far you'll be saying the same thing i am......."i dont have a trunk!"

Why would i be getting that error from the viper unit?
Is it creating that error on it's own?
Or is it a signal coming from the vehicle/idatalink ?

Any suggestions on what could be causing this?

Could be a data issue. Easiest way to find out is to wire it w2w and remove the data wire. Or it could be that the instant trigger wire is grounded or hooked up to something that is grounded.

Hi there and thanks for the reply.

If I rewire it with the w2w method, do I need to have the idatalink reflashed to w2w?

Also what are you referring to by instant trigger wire?
