Hi there,

I am planning to install a Viper 5904 alarm security to my car (2009 Mazda 6 V6). Do I need a Relay for the installation (i.e. for trunk realese, doors...etc)?.

Thanks,

Don't think so, at least not for the trunk release.  Here is a link to a pictorial on a 2010 ( 2009 - 2011 should be the same).

I'll let you handle this one K. hands across the pond etc.
By the way the reason the 59XXs were never sold in the UK was that allegedly the frequencies were illegal for that form of radio control.
Anyway I'm watching American Guns.

09 and 10 the same according to Directwire.
2 relays for the locks or a 451 module plus 2 x 1N4004 diodes and a 1K resistor.
He won't need parking lights, European, direction indicators. Make the white output wire NEG (-) and connect to BLACK/ orange at the white 30 pin plug (plug 3) pin W at the BCM.
Needs 1097 and or 1021 tech tips for the door triggers, I believe they're in the Downloads/Manuals section here.

Or use a Fortin EVO-ALL.  Does transponder, locks & alarm and supplies door, trunk, brake & ebrake status plus a tach signal.  All for around $60.

Thanks guys. just to clarify one thing here that is the car is US Model (Mazda 6 3.7L V6), I bought is from USA in 2009. so do I still need to use relays even if it is US model?. Thanks

Yes but K's suggestion of using the Fortin by-pass is spot on, either from Fortin in Canada or via Armour Auto UK...actually I have a trading account with them, it's a new product range for them I doubt whether anyone but R/S specialists like myself would carry the product though.
Are you with US Forces, Lakenheath air base etc.?
I've done work there before.

Thanks howie II and kreg357. I forget to mention that I also bought the Xpresskit DB-ALL bypass module. Will that work as Fortin EVO-ALL or I still need to use relays with it?.

No I work in Oil industry!...

Sorry, my brother-in-law worked for Texaco in lubricants for many years, spent lots of time in far away places, I think he preferred San Francisco to Siberia.
It's just that you appear to be on a long time assignment.
You'll just have to get used to the gasoline prices over here.
Not sure, Fortin definitely more reliable, Kregg has the answers.

The DB-ALL is a full featured bypass module like the EVO-ALL.  The DB-ALL must be flashed with the correct firmware (  401.Mazda V1.10.11 currently, V1.10.14 is beta ).

It will do the door locks without relays.  Follow the Type 5 diagram in the DB-ALL install guide.  ( Very confusing guide.  The chart says it does the trunk release but there is no W2W wire shown in the diagram, same for window up / down.  Gotta love DEI......)

Thanks kreg357. Yes I also bought the XKloader2 to flash the DB-ALL to correct 2009 Mazda 6 firmware.

Thanks guys for the help. I think I am now good to go with the installation..............

Hi guys,

One more question posted_image?. I am trying to use DB-ALL with D2D option. Do I need to connect any wires from the 4 pin harness on the right bottom corner (see the install guide link - https://www.xpresskit.com/VehicleCompatibility.aspx?src=vs1&p=null&year=2009&make=Mazda&model=6&ps=1&s=0&c=0, which has (+) 12V, RX, (-)Ground, and TX. It doesn't look like I need to from the install guide, I just need to confirm.

Thanks,

As noted above, the DB-ALL install guide is confusing.

In W2W mode that port would not be used.  In D2D mode, that port will be used for the D2D harness
that goes to the Viper's D2D port.
It provides a communication path between the Viper and the DB-ALL
to perform all the functions of the dashed blue wires on the install diagram.  Notice in the module
programming guide, Page 9, Step 2a lists that D2D harness to be plugged in last.

The D2D harness should have been included with the DB-ALL.

Thanks kreg357, Yes it is confusing, I think they do it on purpose so we keep do the installs at their garages!
