so the alarms been doing it job for the past year. just last month i had to park it due to a theif almost walking away with my pride and joy.

they somehow popped the hood an disconnected the battery, they were bypassing the wheel boot by taking the whole tire off had a spare tire just laying next to my car.

any ideas what i could add onto my alarm system and how?  i looking into a microwave sensor since its a targa top and at times i leave the roof off during the day.  will this sensor help from someone reaching under my hood?

they would of gotten away with a great car and a great motor setup yet if they waited a few days it would of been running better. they didnt realize the car was missing the ecu, transmission wasnt going into gear and fuel rails hole wasnt able to flow enuff to start the car.  shows to go they dont car they just wanted it

Pin switch for the hood and a back-up battery siren. The prox won't cover front of engine, it will be blocked though it should be effective for the interior.

Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

Might be related: I've read how thieves will cut the plastic liner inside the wheel well, giving them easy access to things like the hood-release cable. I've read some owners say they re-route their hood release cable.

I intend to look more closely at what's exposed to the plastic cover, perhaps mounting some aluminum sheeting to discourage a thief.

I'm also going to do battery backup as Howie recommended.
