I have a 50.7x installed on my civic and everything was working fine until I left for vacation. The battery on my 2 way remote was running low when I left but I thought nothing of it and left on vacation without worry.

Fast forward 3 weeks later and my remote is DEAD. Three is absolutely nothing displayed on the screen and buttons are unresponsive. I tried connecting it to the charger for hours and still no sign of life. Do I have to press some weird button pattern to get it to work or did something happen to my remote?

I hope I can get this working soon. Thanks

I have just had a similar issue with a 20.7 remote. Same remote as 50.7.  The remote would not take a charge after several hours on it. I tried a different charger same result. Then I tried a third charger with a 5 volt .5a output and it seemed like it jump started the remote into charging.  Don't have a clue as to why but after about three minuets it beeped and showed a display. I switched it back to the orginal charger and it went to full charge.  Don't know why or what.

Actually done the same with a dead car battery, gave it 12 hours at 15 amps!
Perfect after that.
No sound technical reason, it just seems to work.

I forgot to reply to this thread when I resolved my issue last year. Just as smokeman1 said, I connected it to a phone charger and it sprung to life!!

I was very pleased that nothing was wrong with my remote or alarm.

Thanks alot you guys!
