I had someone ask me about doing a rem start in a 2003 Volvo XC70. I looked on idata and it only lists the XC70 down to a 2004. It shows the Blade-AL working for the 2004, but the 2003 isn't even listed. So has anyone tried it before? I really don't feel like going into the doors.. lol.

Also, any tips on this car? I know that a key wrap is required regardless of the bypass, but readyremote calls out keysense as being 'required'. That just means it needs to see the signal (+ in this case) as if it were a 2nd ignition correct? Or does it have to see signal before the ignition?

Thanks!

dont hook your keysense directly to the ignition, use the status output to activate a relay to send +12v to the keysense. this way it will have no chance of interfering with the normal turn-key operation.

I would never just 'daisy chain' it to the ignition wire, but you do have a valid point. I'd have to use a relay either way since the Compustars only have single outputs... so I might as well use the status out to activate it.. lol. Anyone have any input on the bypass?

Don't laugh but what have Fortin got on LandRovers?
Back when they (Range Rover and Volvo) were part of the Empire, they and some Euro-specialist Fords (Cossie Focus) shared many ignition parts.

idata doesn't show anything for LandRover earlier than 2007. It does show the 2004 XC70 as needing the Blade-AL, but it doesn't even bring up the XC70 as an option for 2003... but they should be the same car (didn't change the model between those years as far as I know)

I just called idata and they seemed to give me the "we don't have firmware for that vehicle" a little quick.. lol. I'll have to give Fortin a call. And if not, I have a couple idata bypasses laying around. I may flash it with the 2004 firmware and see what happens.
