Hello all, I really need help. I have been trying for days to get this dball working. I recently purchased an xpresskit dball with optional T-harness and a smartstart module. Using the xpresskit website's "with T-harness" wiring instructions for the dball, I cut the PURPLE / brown near the ignition barrel. Using another PURPLE / brown wire hanging off the harness, I wired that to pin2 on the large connector from the ignition barrel, which was also purple. I then wired the yellow/red wire from the red connector on the harness to start pin 4, which looked pink. i did not wire the parking lights (GREEN/ black) from the red connector, or the WHITE/ black hood wire from the black connector, I don't care if either of these are hooked up. Next, I plug in the dball with activated smartstart, turn the key to the on position, the dball flashes green, and then i take the key out, and the dball shows an orange light for a couple seconds then turns off. This is exactly what is supposed to happen according to the instructions. However, nothing works. With the rsr firmware I put on with my xkloader2, I was under the impression that the car would remote start with my factory key by pressing lock 3 times. Whenever I press lock or unlock, the dball does not flash a light or do anything. The smartstart doesnt work at all either. On my iphone, it says the command went through, but nothing ever works. Anybody know what the heck is going on? I am so frustrated right now, please help. And I have reset and reflashed the dball about 10 times now. please help.

I could be wrong, but on all of the newer chrysler's I've done, after pulling the key out I had to press the lock button on the factory remote to finalize the programming. Not sure if that is how the DB=all works (I always use idata bypasses) but it might be worth a try.

I did that too. Do i need a factory remote starter in my car? Am i missing something here?

I don't know the DB-ALL very well, but I would assume you need some sort of actual module that would control the remote start (with an antenna). Not sure if the smart start module is just that or if it is meant as an add-on for a main starter unit. That is why I stick with Compustar and idata... everything is straight forward and easy.

I was under the impression that the dball could be used as a standalone remote starter, no other remote starter unit needed.

just curious, but did you try grounding the hoodpin/neutral safety wire and then activate the remote start?  Also, in the instructions it says to connect the gray wire on the smart start module to ground, did you do that as well?

I grounded the gray wire, but i did not try grounding the hood pin/neutral safety wire, I will try that later. I am not sure whether the problem is with the smartstart or the dball. The smartstart gives me a positive confirmation that command for locking, unlocking, and starting the car were recieved, but nothing happens. The dball does not start the car when pressing lock three times. I just wish I could resolve this problem since I have all this money into the project.

Good news, I just was able to start the car by pressing lock 3 times, but still no smartstart.... i think the smartstart was configured wrong initially. is there anyone out there that knows how to configure this smartstart or has an account for directed that can check the configuration?
