hey guys i have a 2000 chrysler 300m. i was given a valet 561R remote start setup brand new so i readthe manuals and it said my key has an rf signal chip in it and i need to purchase an interface for it so i did moreresearch and got the directed 556UW universal remote start interface module as i read the manuals for that it stated i need a key to put in it but i only have 1 key for the car what can i do. do i even need tis module to make my car start. please help thank you

If your car has a transponder based immobilizer system, yes you need a bypass to remote start it. You can test this several ways. Wrap the working key head in
4 or 5 layers of aluminum foil and try to start the car. Or go to a local hardware store and get a plain $1.99 copy made and try to start the car with that. With only
one working key, the 556UW is not the way to go.
As a suggestion :
If you have the transponder key and the car has the factory alarm and you don't want to mess with relays and resistors for the remote starter install, get a
bypass module like the Fortin EVO-ALL. Here is a link for more info : https://ifar.ca/en/vehicles/chrysler/300m/2000/ This bypass module will program with
just one key and handle the door locks and Factory Alarm. ------------- Soldering is fun!

ok just did the aluminum foil wrap and my car started then died i did a few time same thing so i guess it it rf signaled. is there a way to get a transponder key?

Instead of buying a transponder key for the purpose of the remote starter, asKreg357 mentioned, your best bet is a data module that can bypass the chip security and also provide door lock control.
A transponder key will not handle disarming or arming the factory alarm (if equipped), nor will it handle the door locks.
You may end up spending more money on a transponder key, relays and resistors, not to mention way more time, than it would take to get a data bypass module that will do it all.

While you can get an un-cut transponder key off EBay for $3 and have a local hardware store cut it for $2, you would not be able to program this new key to your car. You need two working keys to be able to add another key. With only one working key, your only option for getting an additional key is a trip to the Chrysler dealer ( with your checkbook ) or a full tilt locksmith that can do that kind of work ( still bring your checkbook ). ------------- Soldering is fun!

Use your internet WEB browser to search on "buy Fortin EVO-ALL". There are several good on-line sources available. Just make sure it is "NIB". Figure on about $65 delivered.
