Got this vehicle and it has 4200 module with idatalink ads-al 32
No remote.

Got a new remote , programmed it, all but starter works.
Vehicle fires up and than dies. Unit flashed 4-times. Tach issue ?
The wiring to the datalink is all as per diagrams.
When i try to autolearn tach signal by flipping switches 1567 and fire it up all warmed up, hit the brake and nothing happens, the led just stays off...
What am I missing, help !

I don't know the programming for those, but first make sure there is a tach wire connected, second make sure the unit is programmed for tach signal sensing.

Also try remote starting it with the key in the ignition. The bypass may just need to be reprogrammed.

Hi.

I am using the idatalink , the tach feeds from there, Datalink on escalade only taps into 2 oem wires. One to the obd port and 2nd to ignition. It has solid green on it, so it appears programmed.

Key makes no difference.

Not familiar with the astrastart but...

Does the astrastart 4200 do "PitStop Mode"?  If it does, go into PitStop Mode, take out the key and see if it stays running.  If it does, depress the Brake Pedal to see if it shuts the engine down.  Then you'll know if most everything is connected properly and the Brake Input works.

Soldering is fun!

I assume you mean AstroStart? Could also be security/bypass problem.

As Kreg says, check and see if it will go into takeover mode / continuous run / pit stop / or whatever you want to call it.

To do this, press the start button while the engine is running with the key. If it continues to run once the key is removed then it's time to look at reprogramming the bypass and checking all its connections.

Also the LED on the brain should flash consistently when the engine is running with the key. This is an indication that it is receiving a tach signal.

I have had tach the ads bypasses not wanting to work with some starts. I would recommend running the tach wire from the astrostart up to the white wire at the cluster. Then reprogram tach.
