I don't want to connect all the lights or locks to this unit. I have a dodge ram 1500 SLT . I want to install it as a start only . What wires do I use to make this happen as a stater only button. Do I need relays?

ignition,ground,12 volt constant, starter, maybe tach wire,i sure you may need a ignition bypass.
But you should also know what you are doing.

You would definitely need a bypass unit. You could get something like Fortin INT-SL or idatalink ADS-TB.

As for wiring in the truck, 1prix gave most of them.

You may need a relay for the 2nd Accessory wire. Otherwise it's the ignition wires and a tach wire connection.

12volts      red (40A)      +      ignition harness
Starter      yellow or yellow/orange      +      ignition harness or starter button (SRT-10)
Second Starter      N/A
Ignition      pink/white      +      ignition harness
Second Ignition      pink/lt. green      +      ignition harness
Third Ignition      N/A
Accessory      dk. blue and pink / YELLOW (16 AWG)      +      ignition harness
Second Accessory      pink / YELLOW (14 AWG)      +      ignition harness
Keysense      PURPLE / tan      -      ignition harness

Tachometer      dk. blue/gray      ac      PCM, orange plug, pin 34
Notes: The PCM is on the passenger side firewall.

On SRT-10 models, the tach wire is in the black plug, pin 18.

On diesel models, the tach wire is at the ECM on the lower driver side of the engine, 60 pin plug, pin 24, or at the camshaft position sensor just left of the ECM, in a 3 pin plug.

On gas models, can also go to any ignition coil or fuel injector and use the wire that is NOT BROWN / white.

Even though you said you weren't interested in doing locks or parking lights, but for a few more dollars, you can instead get the Fortin EVO-ALL or the idatalink ADS-AL CA and that would control locks, factory alarm arm/disarm, and tach signal thru the data wires as well as the immobilizer bypass.

The only optional wire you would connect (if interested) is the parking light wire.

Also, I don't believe the previous bypass units I mentioned disarm the factory alarm, so you will have to wire that up to (only if you use the ADS-TB or INT-SL).

Factory Alarm Arm      PURPLE / lt. blue      - 644 ohms      driver kick, door harness
Notes: This will also do door locks. Arm/lock is negative trigger thru a 644 ohm resistor. Disarm/unlock is negative trigger thru a 1565 ohm resistor. Single pulse will do disarm without unlocking the doors. Unlock requires a double pulse. MUST use relays.
Factory Alarm Disarm      same as factory alarm arm wire      -1565 ohms
Disarm No Unlock      see factory alarm disarm

I used the idatalink ads alsl ch on my dad's '04 Ram 1500, and it controlled the brake, tach, factory arm/disarm, and door locks. The horn is dark GREEN/ purple in the steering column harness if you don't have a siren.

Do yourself a favor and get a data bypass module. You will end up paying just a slight bit more, but it will save you a ton of headache with the install and give you all the extras (brake, tach, locks, factory alarm, etc).

Where to purchase a xk01 bypass kit or a dlpkgm for a 05 ram1500?

Don't think the XK01 will work on your 2005 Dodge Ram 1500.  The DLPKGM will only do the transponder bypass.

If you want a module that can handle both, try the Fortin EVO-ALL ( https://ifar.ca/en/products/evo/evo-all/ ).  Very reliable module and using the W2W ( non-DataLink ) install method, will work with any remote starter.

As for as purchasing a bypass module, try an on-line search ( "buy directed DLPKGM" or "buy Fortin EVO-ALL" ).   There are several reputable on-line sellers, some even sell on EBay.

04 trailblazer. Installing a avital 4103 . Does anyone know about the t-harness that is installed in this rig? Will it connect up to the avital? Or eliminate it an go w2w ?

Which T-harness are you referring to?

To my knowledge, there are no T-harnesses that will connect to the Avital that will allow remote starting to a Trailblazer.

Unless you are referring to the data module? You will definitely need one as stated in previous replies. But again, there are no T-harnesses with that either that will connect directly to the Avital.   W2W is already the best way to go when connecting the module to the Avital.

As kreg357 stated prior, you can get the Fortin EVO-ALL or INT-SL+ since they are preloaded with the firmware for that vehicle. If you have someone with a dealer account, you can get an iDatalink ADS-ALCA or ADS-DL. There is also the ADS-ALSL GM from their Solo series which has the firmware preloaded already.

Any of those will work the immobilizer, locks and factory alarm control.

the T-harness that everyone keeps talking about is dodge specific and is made to make it easy to connect the bypass wiring because they bypass is made to operate every function of the ignition switch. they dont make one for chevys because they cant be done that way, you still need to connect wires from the remote starter on a chevy trailblazer.

Installed a rs1200 on a 05 ram . It works fine. But my brake light and ABS light stays on when it starts . The brake only shows red when the pedal is pressed. The hood pin shuts down the unit when opened. Also I noticed when I start it it doesn't start on the first try short crank, the second time it starts? Did not install tach wire, should I install it? How do I get the lights on the dash to go out?

Which bypass did you use? and what remote start are you using?  You are confusing this post with Ram and Trailblazer info
