Ok guys I need your help. I'm installing a python 574, in a 03 ford f150. My question is, do I need any relays, diodes to interface with the locks, lights an ignition? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I do already have the bypass for the pats system. Thanks in advance

Here is a link to the wiring info -

https://readyremote.com/print.asp?action=select&yr=5340&product=Remote%20Start

You will need several relays as there is a 3rd ignition wire and 2nd Accessory wire. Depending on the door locks, you may need relay for the locks (explained better in the wiring link above).

Otherwise, fairly straightforward and simple install.

Ok thanks for that info. An this might be a stupid question but I'm learning, but do you have to have a relay for every ignition an accessory or just if there's more than one ignition/accessory?

The remote starter has high current (+) and low current (-) ignition and accessory wires. The high current wires get connected directly to the ignition wires in the truck. The low current wires are meant to run the relays that will connect ignition or accessory power to any extra wires in the vehicle.

In this case, there are 4 total high current wires on the Python system - Pink Ignition, Pink/White flex wire, Orange Accessory and a Violet Starter wire. The Pink/white can be used for either an extra Ignition or Accessory wire.

And 6 total in the F150 (starter, ign 1,2&3, acc 1&2).

For the extra Ignition and Accessory wires, there are low current thinner wires that would connect via relays to power the high current wires in the vehicle.

Hope that makes sense.

Darn... H3/5 to key side of cut  RED / Light Blue Starter and H3/4 to starter side of RED / Light Blue. Also H3/8 is default to Ignition 2 and needs to changed to Acc2

Different wiring guide sometimes give conflicting info. So make sure you test your wires with a DMM. The Install Manual for the Viper 5701 in the downloads section of this site describes how to test for the wires you need.

Door Locks :

Does the truck have factory remote keyless entry?

If the 2003 F-150 came with Factory Remote Keyless Entry it should be easy to get the locks working
without any extra parts.  Here is the info from Ready Remote :

Power Lock         Pink / YELLOW (-)             @ passenger kick panel
Power Unlock     Pink/Light Green (-)    @ passenger kick panel

You can directly connect the Pythons lock / unlock wires to the trucks wires.

Here is an additional note from Bulldog Security about the GEM module :
After hooking up the door locks if you notice that they will not Unlock after the vehicle sets for a
few minutes you will need to  WAKE UP the GEM, to connect, See DIAGRAM.  Link to diagram :
