Viper Responder 350 connecting to 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis without factory keyless entry

Only want to use siren, keyless entry, parking light flash and trunk release

Primary Harness H1

H1/1     Orange    (-) 500mA armed output (won't use)

H1/2     White  (+/-) Selectable Light Flash Input (Brown, pin 4@LCM)

H1/3     WHITE/ Blue        (-) 200mA Channel 3 Programmable Output

(Press first to unlock driver and second to unlock all others)

H1/4     BLACK/ White       (-) 200mA Domelight Supervision Output (won't use)

H1/5     Green   (-) Door Trigger Input (?)

H1/6     Blue     (-) Instant Trigger Input (won't use)

H1/7     Violet  (+) Door Trigger Input (?)

H1/8     Black    (-) Chassis Ground Input (ground to chassis)

H1/9     Yellow (+) Switched Ignition Input (12+ switched from ignition)

H1/10   Brown   (+) Siren Output (connects to siren)

H1/11   Red      (+) Constant Power Input (constant 12+ from ignition)

H1/12   Red White          (-) 200mA Channel 2 Output (trunk release) (purple / YELLOW 5wi)

@

@

Door Lock Harness (No additional information in installation guide, refers me to Document No 1041 available only through dealer)

1     Light Blue       (-) Unlock, (+) Lock Output

2     Empty Not Used

3     Green (-) Lock, (+) Unlock Output

According to wiring diagram for car:

Power Lock without keyless entry the door locks are 5wi (reverse polarity)

With keyless entry they are postive trigger

Power Unlock is the same

Left Front Door Trigger (Blue is driver door trigger wire and BLACK/ orange is the three passenger doors. It says to use both wires and diode isolate each.) Would like to be able to hook H1/3 so I can press unlock once to unlock driver door and press again to unlock all remaining doors

Could someone clue me in to what I hook the door unlock to. Do I need relays? If I do I assume I will need one for trunk release too. I wanted to keep it as simple as possible because the domelight will come on with the door trigger, I don't need starter kill and I don't want to use any of the other options this can do. I just want flashing parking lights when i lock, unlock, the siren to work, of course the doors to be keyless and be able to pop my trunk from remote. I have a unlock, lock, axillary and "panic"? utton on remote

ANy help would greatly be appreciated

Add a DEI 451 or a pair of relays* for your lock/unlock
You only need the green (-) door trigger, violet not used.
You will also need a relay AND diode (1N4004) across 85 and 86, band (cathode) to 86.
Wire as follows:-
Cut violet (or purple)** / YELLOW,
Front end to 87a.
Trunk end to 30.
H1/12 RED / white to 85
12V+ constant, fused at 15 amps to 86 and 87.
*It's far easier and neater to just plug in the 451 rather than use two relays and two diodes.
**I never know why some people call it violet, others purple they're both the same to me.

thanks boss, I may just break down and get the DEI 451 if I can find one at a local dealer.

To save yourself som time verify that the door lock wiring is not there sometimes they put it in and don't list the option as being there, so no remotes.

I sure will, I have about all the info to do this. If you hear a boom from central Mississippi then I didn't do something rightposted_image

The funny thing is I did just about the same install about 5 years ago on a F-150. It was an Avital sytem with remote start. I think their install instructions were much more clear than the Viper install instructs are.

The manuals are leaving out what they consider information that a shop installer would already know as they don't want individuals doing their own installs anyways. The newer manuals for the 1-way systems either are vauge or leave out all together that they can be 2-way upgraded. IE buy a new 2-way system not upgrade the one you got equals more proffit for them.

Question. I will have 4 relays, one will be run off the yellow and orange of the wiring harness and is prewired. Can I run the one for parking light flash, trunk and doomlight supervision all off the same fused 12v power source. Literature says its best to come right from batteries to drive relays

For what you are trying to do you should be fine as they are low draw or pulsed outputs.

You shouldn't need a relay for parking lights.
Make the white wire NEG (-) connect to WHITE/ black pin 13 of a grey 16 pin plug at the LCM (Light Control Module) to the right of the steering column.

Ok. Hooked it up. Domelight and trunk pop work. However the DEI 451m module keeps blowing a fuse and will not unlock or lock doors it blows the fuse the is on the violet/ black lead that kooks to constant 12v. I have it spliced into the BLACK/ white constant power source from door. Any suggestions?

You've wired the lock wires the wrong way round, check your wiring.

Purple and purple black to constant power supply, at least 15 amps.
Cut lock wire GREEN/ black to motor side WHITE/ black to switch or BCM.
Cut unlock blue/black to motor side and BROWN / black to switch or BCM.
Test. After cutting BCM or switch side is the side that shows 12V+ for 0.8 seconds on lock or unlock.

I didn't give you the Ford colours I gave you the Alarm colours and note I wrote Body Control Module OR switch
Did you not understand any of my last post.
Got to be the world's simplest alarm to install.

Let me ask this, do I need to cut both the unlock and lock wires before doing any testing? I cut the Pink / YELLOW lock output(according to several wiring diagrams) and it showed ground at rest on ther swith, nothing when I pushed lock but 12V as long as I held down the unlock side. If I only cut the Lock wire and tested it without cutting the unlock would it give me the wrong results?

Rejoin but have both stripped for testing.
Both should rest at ground.
Switch lock and that wire should go to 12 volts.
Then repeat with your suspected unlock wire.
Those are the correct wires.

SUCCESS!!! Finally got it all to work. Had a bad window module. The guy at Street Smart Audio gave me another one and voila'. That's the reason it wasn't working and I knew I had it wired correctly. Thanks guys for helping me out with this.

Don't you mean bad 451 (something I've never heard of).

Yes a bad 451. It looked like it had been opened before and the wires had been soldered before which is why the guy replaced it. Apparently someone else there tried hooking it to something and couldn't get it to work either.
