Hi all, doing a bunch of research on line , but getting many different answers. Just wondering how difficult it is to remove the steering wheel shroud on a 2004 Grand Prix. doing a r/s on this next weekend and it appears to be more difficult then most. Is it just a matter of removing the tilt wheel lever and a few bottom scews. It also looks like the tilt lever is simply pryed off, is that correct.

Any insight or advise would be appreciated, thank you in advance

Following Euro GM, Toyota and VW practise you might try turning the steering wheel and see if there are any screws facing you.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

You may not need to remove the shroud at all. Once you get the lower dash cover off, almost every connection can be made right at the BCM to the left of the steering column.

Any other wires needed that's under the steering shroud should be easily accessible as it exists from the bottom of the shroud.

Thanks for the replies,I am using the GM PATS bypass module so I need to get the antenna loop around the ignition switch. Not sure if I can get the loop around the switch without the top cover removed.

Thanks again for the replies

The ign switch is not on the column of the car it is in the dash next to the radio. Remove the outer ring around the switch and place your ring. All connections can be made with out removing the dash panel. Just remove the panel above the pedals(if there) and the panel on the left side of the dash. Easy install. If you are not comfortable doing the install your self, I am sure a local shop would be more than willing to do it for you.
