I have a few questions about a viper 4704 remote start I am installing in a 2000 s10. I am using a xpresskit XK09 bypass. First of all the wires for the keyless entry are negative trigger and the ones on the truck are positive I believe since I get nothing with them hooked up, how do I get around this? Also what wires actually arms the factory alarm on the truck? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't know if anyone has the viper manual for this kit, all I have is the basic checklist of the wires and I am not a dealer. Thanks

you need 2 relays to convert the (-) lock/unlock outputs to (+). There isnt a wire to arm the alarm. To arm it, leave the door open, lock with the Viper remote and close the door.

Thanks for the info. I found the correct diagram and will get 2 relays tomorrow.

Another quick question does this look correct on wiring for my truck I already have the other two harnesses hooked up and the bypass just unsure on this one.
Do I need these wires hooked to anything for my truck? Thanks again

Got the remote installed but having two problems. The first is the headlights come on when the truck is remote started. Is this normal I only have the wire hooked up to the parking lamps. The only thing I can think of is that maybe I have the wrong ignition 2 wire hooked up. The instructions I followed said it was a white wire (and the white is a smaller gauge than the pink ignition 1), but another version said it is orange, which I have hooked up to the accessory wire? I thought the accessory wire in the truck is orange? But another set of instructions say it is the brown. Anybody know what the actual wiring is for sure for these?

Also would having one of these hooked up wrong cause my service engine light to blow out? I guess it could be a chance that it just went out on its own but I doubt it.

Thanks for the help

Notes from a recent install on a 2003 S-10 ( 1998 thru 2004 should be the same ) :

The IGN2 wire is a White 18 Gauge wire.

There are two Accessory wires.  One is Orange and one is Brown.

The Starter wire is an 18 Gauge Yellow wire.  Ignition 1 is Pink.  +12V constant wires are Red and RED / White.

What did you use for the Parking Lights?  Last one I did was using the (+) Parking Light Light Blue wire at the
headlight switch ( could be Brown, too ).

Soldering is fun!

The head lights on s10's are wired to be DRL on those, you can check if applying the parking brake until the parking break light comes on will turn off the DRL's. If it does you can use a relay with the GWR to turn on the parking brake light to turn off the DRL's when remote started.

I have all wires hooked up like kreg357 says except the brown accessory wire. Do you know what is on this one because with just the orange I have the blower motor and radio so I don't really need anything else I don't think.

I also have the light blue hooked up for the parking lights because it was the one with power with just the parking lights on. I guess I need to be more clear the automatic headlights are on when its dark out and remote started. they do not flash when you lock it or unlock. SO apparently it must get power from the accessory wire? And it is not the DRL's because I have them disabled. Thanks again

Then the headlights are automatically turning on, by the light sensor then. And they are tied to the Ignition not Acc.

On some GM's the 2nd acc. powers the power mirrors, rear defrost on some, heated seats, and memory for seats, and mirrors or other addon electronics. On some of the newer full size it needs to be hooked up for the trans controller to work or trans damage will occur.
