I've installed Clifford intelliguard 6000 to 1992 Lexus LS400, and I would like to install trunk release.  Do I need to run a relay (probably do right?) and if so, how can I wire it to my trunk release switch? There are 2 wires going to the switch. One shows constant 12V while other don't show anything. The Aux output from alarm is (-)

Thanks for your help!

in a simple one word response --- YES

switch the relay contacts across the trunk release switch

relay coil wire one to the alarm output and the other to +12v

Trunk Release

Locate the trunk release wire comingfrom the back of the trunk release switch. To determine if yourtrunk release is tripped by a (+) positive or a (-) negative (mosttrunk release switches are (+) positive). Place one end of your testlight to ground, press the Trunk button, if the test lightilluminates, you have a (+) positive trunk release. If it does not,connect the test light to +12V constant and probe the wire. If thetest light illuminates when the button is pressed, then you havea (-) negative trunk release.

If your trunk output tests as a positive, connect the relay like this:
87 = Factory Trunk Wire
86 = Alarm's negative wire
85 = 12v+ constant
30 = 12v+ constant
87a= not used

If your trunk output tests as a (-) negative, connect the relay like this:
87 = Factory Trunk Wire
85 = 12v+ constant fused
86 = Alarm's negative wire
30 = Ground
87a= Not used
