I have installed a Autostart AS-1780 into a 2006 GMC 2500HD Duramax. Using a Fortin INT-SL+ bypass module with the data wire. Everything is working 100%, except the odd time the vehichle will shut it self down after about 2 mins of running on the remote starter and start back up again. Sometime after this happens once it will continue to run for the allowed amount of time. Then I have had it happen that it will stall again in a minute or two and start up again, the do it again and will not attempt to restart because the module will only try three times. I have tried swapping the remote starter module with another one I had here, still the same problem. I have installed several remote starters but this is my first on a diesel. If anyone has had this happen or any idea of why this is happening would be great.
A little more info:
Didn't use a glow plug light wire, just set it for a 18 second wait to start.
Notice once that the vehichle shut it self off and was on reg idle and when it restarted on the remote start it ran for 10 seconds and then went to high idle. And countinued to run till the time expired. (not sure if this has something to do with it)
Seems to happen if the truck has been sitting in the could for at least 3 hours. havent had it happen warm, that i know of. (dont have time to watch it run everytime I remote start it)
I would put money in the tach as well. D2d is way better than it used to be but not all systems work well both ways. As in tach from module to start does not always work.
Get the tach from the truck. White wire behind cluster. That should fix your issues.
Thanks guys, I will try that as soon as I get the truck back in.
