I have a Python remote start on my 2010 F250 Superduty. I think it is a 1401. I would like the heated mirrors to come on when remote started. The starter has options for latched and pulsed triggers. I would prefer the pulsed if possible. It would only come on if it was 55 or colder. Can anyone tell me which wire on the heated mirror switch to connect to or if I would have to use a relay? Thanks.

Do you actually have a button to turn them on? I think they are just automatic and come on at a certain temp.

Mine has a button to turn them on. You just press it and they stay on for a set time. Thanks.

It depends on the type of switch and the number of wires, as I have never done one these trucks. But with a DMM and a little testing you can figure it out. 1st test with vehicle on and switch off and find the +12v wire or wires if it is not part of a climate control circuit board. You should be able to trace the other wires when switched is pressed if voltage is steady you will need to run a latched relay, where the relay will need to be placed, and how it will be wired will be determined by the gauge of wire to the switch if it is feeding the mirrors direct or energizing a relay. If the voltage is only present when the switch is pressed and no voltage on the specific wire when released, then a pulse to that wire should activate it. Basicly you need to figure out the function of each wire to the switch, IE Power, Output, Backlight, Activated Light, Ground. Most prefer to always do a latched activation and set timers or add them in to limit the circuit run time so it dosen't run for 24 minutes if the remote start runs that long. I always try to take advantage of the factory design when I can so it runs like the button was manually pushed and shuts off as normal. Maybe some else has done a vehicle like yours and will post a how too for you. But if your up to the task of figuring it out for yourself, then the self accomplishment will be yours.

The wire is WHITE/ orange. It will test as a Negative. This means you but your red probe on a known 12volt source and put your black probe on your suspected wire. If you get a reading when you press the defrost button, thats the correct wire. The python will need to be set as latched. The reason it needs to be latched is the timer is built in the HVAC control. Without opening up the HVAC control and possibly soldering wires to the actual switch behind the button, the internal timer cannot be utilized.
Depending what kind of HVAC controls you have will help you in determining the location of the WHITE/ orange wire:
On vehicles with manual A/C, it is in the black 26 pin plug, pin 3. On vehicles with automatic A/C, it is in the blue 26 pin plug, pin 23.
