Hey guys,
I want to install a remote start in an 07 Ion and I need a diagram with as much detail as possible. I can't seem to find one for the 07. Only upto 06..........I would really appreciate any help.

Here is a wiring diagram. You will need a data module to control the ignition and immobilizer. It will also control the power door locks. iDatalink makes a top notch module but needs to be programmed before using (as do most modules).   

Make sure to test every wire before connecting anything to it. As for a diagram with as much detail as possible. This site has a lot of good general info to learn. I suggest you try there first.


12volts      red (40A)      +      BCM, black 37 pin plug, pin 37
Notes: The BCM (Body Control Module) is part of the fuse/relay box in the lower center of the dash, just below the HVAC control assembly.
Starter      yellow (not for remote start)      -      ECM, blue plug, pin 48, 46, or 56
Notes: The ECM (Engine Control Module) is on the driver side of engine compartment, near coolant over flow container.
Second Starter      white      mux      ignition harness or BCM, gray 56 pin plug, pin 53
Notes: The BCM (Body Control Module) is part of the fuse/relay box in the lower center of the dash, just below the HVAC control assembly.

If interface module is not available, see Tech Doc 1603.
Ignition      dk. blue      +      ignition harness or BCM, gray 56 pin plug, pin 7
Notes: The BCM (Body Control Module) is part of the fuse/relay box in the lower center of the dash, just below the HVAC control assembly.
Second Ignition      N/A           
Third Ignition      N/A           
Accessory      brown      +      ignition harness or BCM, gray 56 pin plug, pin 6

Second Accessory      same as second starter           
Keysense      same as second starter           
Power Lock      white      -      BCM, black 56 pin plug, pin 33

Power Unlock      same as power lock      -1.5K ohms     
Lock Motor      gray      5 wire      BCM, black 56 pin plug, pin 51

Unlock Motor      tan      5 wire      BCM, black 56 pin plug, pin 2
