It is impossible to use the 9776 with any other remote. They should have used the Pursuit AS9234 with an Idatalink bypass. This would give you alarm when you lock/unlock and remote start when you press lock/unlock/lock on the factory fob....

I've been installing Pursuit systems for about 11 years; I'm very familiar with them.
However, more information is needed. Question 1: What type of immobilizer interface (aka "bypass") module was used? Question 2: How was the module connected to the remote starter....was it connected using the special "DBI" (data) cable, or "wire-to-wire" (installer simply spliced the wires from the module to the corresponding wires on the remote starter)?
I was actually about to write a longer, more detailed response, but I realized you didn't include the year of your Camry.
The up-to-2010, 2011, and 2012 Camrys will all differ in installation. Please state what year your car is.
Also, when you activate the remote-start function of the 9776, and the car's engine is running, can you still open the door using the Toyota Smart Key or does it only work when the car is off?
Furthermore, after activating the remote starter, are you able to get in the car and drive it away, or does the engine shut off when you open the door, and then you start it again?
Thanks for the answers. Its a 2012 SE Limited. The doors unlock automaticly when u approach the vehicle w/the Toyota bob.The vehicle (remote start) shuts down when door is open and u must restart. Cannot answer ur other question as the dealer installed this. Point me in the rite direction and I could check the connections .Thanks again. PS there is a factory Toyota alarm that came w/the vechicle.
I think Chris missed the title, "2012 Camry" :)
How these things work is
A you have a new car.
B you have a remote start/alarm.
C you have an interface that allows A to talk to B and vise versa.
Until just a few weeks ago, no one made a proper interface for this car. Thay have been in development for a long time. Only one existed made by Fortin, but it required a dealer scan tool to program and was nothing more than a key code in a box. It had no other interfacing other than to bypass the factory immobilizer system. This unti also won't work with PTS Camrys, only standard key models.
Now enters Idatalink, they just released a new interface that actually does everything you want. It is supposed to allow a 9776C to be controlled from a factory key fob. I've used the TL5 software myself, which is for non push to start Camrys but haven't used the TL6 software, which is for your PTS Camry. There is a problem tho, it has been reported that there is a clitch in the new TL6 software that makes the 9776C arm when ever you put the car in gear. Certainly if this is true it will be fixed shortly.
There is another possibilty, they used a spare key fob and put in a key coffin. Basically, they take another programmed fob and put it in the remote start so the car can start without an interface module. There is a part on the market we call a coffin that is made to do just this. The drawbacks are
A the spare key costs 5 times the price of an interface
B The doors don't unlock from the factory fob whenever the car is running. This is just the way Toyota makes your car and would be one reason for using the 9776C. You say your doors unlock when you come up to the car, which as far as i know can't happen if you have a key coffin.
What you need to find out is what brand and model Interface was used in your car. If it was installed more than a few weeks ago it couldn't have been made by Idatalink and won't do what you want. Again, the proper install would be to use the AS9234, which is basically a 9776C with no remotes. It's an "upgrade" unit which means it is designed to use with the factory fobs and doesn't come with remotes.

Mike thanks alot for the simple response for the problem I'm having. Guess its time to go and sit down w/ the dealer and sort this out. You would have thought the dealer would have all this info to begin with! Do you think this will get resloved w/the updated software? Wonder how deep they will try to reach into my pockets for the dealer to fix it! LOL
