2010 elantra + avital 4103 non starter

As the subject line mentioned, I'm installing an Avital 4103 remote starter on a 2010 Hyundai Elantra (no alarm system). All connections are made and everything works except one thing: the car won't start via remote control. Specifically, the 4103 refuses to engage the vehicle starter. The ignition and accessory wires have current once the 4103 is activated but the starter wire is never hot. However, if I use the remote to activate the 4103 box, then *manually* hot wire the 12V constant to the starter wire, the engine cranks right up and doesn't shut down until I press the brake.

(The car's ignition harness has one 12 V constant, one ignition, one starter, and two accessory wires. I've programmed the 4103 to use two accessories and one ignition wire so that shouldn't be confounding. Also I left the 4103 set to the default Virtual Tach.)

So, um, what am I missing?

There's a BLACK/ white wire labeled neutral safety. Where is this wire connected ?    If its an automatic it can either go to ground, to the supplied switch our to the neutral safety wire in the car

Also the gray hood pin what do you have that connected to ?

Neutral safety is grounded to the chassis (the car's an automatic).

I haven't connected the hood pinswitch yet; I wanted to get the remote starter working before I strung that wire through the firewall and drilled a hole to hold the switch.

I didn't connect the tach input. I figured the virtual tach would work or at least give me some feedback if the car had difficulty starting.

Are all red and RED / XXX wires connected to constant?
Is there 12V at the violet starter wire?
Is the ground to an existing bolt?
Is an immobiliser by-pass required?
Also forget virtual tach, hard-wire it.

Where is the thick, heavy gauge violet wire connected in the car?

Is the valet switch turned to on or off?

If you start the car with the key and then press the remote start button, does the Avital take over if you remove the key at that point?

You said when you activate the 4103 and apply 12v directly to starter wire, it turns on. Have you tested the violet start wire from the Avital to make sure it's sending 12v?

x2 also on the Immobilizer bypass. Is this a US built or Canada built? US built don't use immobilizer on standard key models.

Do you have all the power wires connected.   Should be a big heavy gague Red and a RED / Wite.   Both need to go to constant 12volt.   If all else fails and you have a bad relay on the brain you can use the - small purple wire to trigger an external relay for start wire.
