Car: 98 Lexus GS300

Alarm: Viper 5901

Problem: I recently had an alarm installed and the "AUTO" function does not shut off my lights after leaving the car and arming it. It stays on for good.

Search Results: So I found out from searching that, I need to send a NEG signal from the alarm to the driver's side door ECU telling it that I have left the car.

Question: Now, problem is, I've tried the RED / white wire to no avail. I am using a relay since the signal from the alarm is only 200mA. Which wire is the correct one that I am supposed to tap into? My search went to a dead end here. Can someone chime in? Thanks

This just doesn't work on some Toyota/Lexus. Some it even triggers the alarm. The correct way of doing it is to wire a relay to break the autolight wire at the light switch whenever the RS is on. Using your DVM, find the wire at the switch that goes to ground only when you turn the switch to auto. Cut this wire and connect one end to 30, one end to 87A. Connect 85 to 12volts and 86 to your ground while running wire of the RS(should be blue or blue/white). This will make the car think the auto lights are turned off whenever you use the RS.

Will this resolve my issue of headlights staying on when leaving the car and arming it with the headlight on the "auto" position?

Also, which wire is that for a 1998 Lexus GS300?
