I was wondering if anyone has the procedure to program the option 2 menu using the two way remote...
This unit was professionally install (the first one for the installer)
I really want to get the timer start feature to work at a preset time once in a 24hr period...
So I know I need option group 2 - 06 and I am pretty sure level/option 3
Currently the vehicle is starting every 3 hours which I think means 2 - 06 level/option 1 (default)

The one on the left is the one I have, I also got the one way but it's not coded to the system (the system is the Startit) as I only needed remote starting with a lot of range. Needless to say the range is NOT good...

I knew I forgot to add something! The user manual tells me how to enter the option 2 menu by pushing the funtion button and start button for 2.5 sec. The park lights flash once then I don't know what to do next...

How much range are you looking for as the left remote should be good for a mile. But depending on other things range can vary.

The range isn't very good, I used to have a Prime remote starter and it was amazing...
I am little dissapointed in this system. The wife has the exact system in her car and I have yet to take it to work and try it...
Her remote shows more bars than mine and they are both in the driveway!! Go figure

Do you have a tint strip on the windshield where the antenna is? Some tint strips are metallic and can drastically cut down on range. Also make sure the antenna plugs are tight and the antenna isn't pinched anywhere.

No tint strip on the windshield... Except for some of the factory matrix (about 1/4 inch above the anenta)
The front driver's side and passenger side windows are however tinted... This is also on a pickup truck with a canopy on the back (four door crew).
Come to think of it, the factory remote start (one way) was horrible!! We are talking maybe two or three car lengths away before I could remote start it!
This is the main reason I went with the pro-series, I told the installer I wanted MAX range. Failing the range I went with the pro-series as you can preprogram a start time.
Unfortunely, the installer does not have the right options selected and the truck is starting every 3 hours (while in timer mode)
I don't have the op 500 for programming, but if I have to go to the installer again (3rd time) I might as well of bought my own OP 500 I would of had money left over for a nice dinner
I am hoping someone can help me program the options using the two-way remote. I know the special options menu and the aux you NEED the op 500. The option I want is in the Options Menu number 2 - 06 and I need to activate option 3 (timed start ONCE in a 24 hour period, NON cold starting)

It can be done with the remote but it is a royal PITA. What brain module is it? Here is the instructions to hopefully help you out. Make sure to wait for each parking light flash... don't try to speed through it. ------------- Kenny

Hey Kenny
I am not sure of the unit that is installed. It ONLY does remote starting so I am assuming it's the CM6200?
I found those instructions online but I don't know which buttons on my remote are I,II,III, and IV
According to the operating guide it tells me to press the FUNCTION BUTTON and KEY/START button for 2.5 sec for option programming menu 2
- When I do this, the park lights flash once (no chirp... disabled?)
- Then I have no idea what buttons to push
My remote has a total of 5 buttons, lock, unlock, function, start, and trunk/hatch
I appreciate your help Kenny, would you know which buttons are which?

I used the one-way remote, two way was too hard..
It flashes blue led when you have the keys pressed right, basically for menu 2 you hold:
Lock+Unlock until blue flashes and siren chirp
Lock+Key until blue flashes and siren chirp
Now, say you're going for for Option 2
You hold
Trunk+key until blue flash/siren
Trunk+key again until blue flash/siren
Now you wait about 5 seconds until the siren chirps back what you will be programming, so in this case the car will chirp back twice, since you held trunk+key twice.
And now, the magic, you must HOLD Lock for Option 1, Unlock for 2, Trunk for 3 and Trunk+Key for 4.
It says Tap in instruction but didn't work for me.. I had to hold about 1-2 seconds and let go. If you briefly tap, nothing happens.
If you get it right alarm will chirp back what you pressed, so if you pressed Unlock(2) it will chirp twice, and you're done!
If you do it too slowly, the siren will sound for about 2 seconds, meaning the entire thing failed, try again.

I just realized you want the timer, which is option 13.. you'll have to do it 13 times!! Count the light flashes, counting 13 chirps coming that fast is not easy... Let us know how it goes.
Also, I could never figure out what buttons 1-5 on the 2-way remote are, they are not labelled with numbers!... not sure why programming instructions give numbers.

Thanks exactly what I wanted...
I don't think it's option 13 though, it's should be menu 2 option 6 and level 3??
Will probably be looking for an OP500 in the New year, if I can't get in to see the installer in a timely fashion.
I DO have the timer option enabled, but it is starting the truck every 3 hours and I work 12 hour shifts (waste of fuel)
SO I also want to shut down menu 2 option 5 (cold start)
I just want it to start when I program it to, 15 mins before the end of my shift

Menu 2, Option 6 is Cold/Hot start using thermometer! You don't want this..
2-13 Timer Mode - This option turns the remote start timer mode on the system. This feature must also be turned on by the remote
you want Menu 2 option 13, which will enable you to set a start time Via 2-way remote control. User manual tells how to do this, but option 13 needs to be enabled.
I found how to get to the option using 2-way remote as well, so you don't need one way.
With alarm unlocked
Hold F+Trunk
Hold F+Key
Press Key 13 times
Press Trunk for Option 2 (ON) should chirp back three times .
I've tested it on mine.
Then on Remote, hold 2.5sec Trunk+Key, press F until TMR flashes and time displays, press LOCK/UNLOCk to set time to start.
Press trunk+key 2.5sec to get out of the remote menu.
Press F twice, press Unlock, to enable TMR.

Took me less than 5 min to do this, I'd say OP500 is overkill for this.
Just be sure to go by the chirps. Press F slowly 13 times, too fast, it won't register. Make sure WAIT after 13 times pressed, until you hear 13 chirps, and then tap Trunk.

I mean, press Key 13 times, sorry said F by mistake.

By the way,
I believe, for 2-way it's
1 = F
2 = Trunk
3 = Lock
4 = Key
5 = Unlock
I might have 3 and 5 mixed up, but 1,2 and 4 should be correct.

Hey otterslide
I TOTALLY appreciateyour help!!
I know that 2-13 is already enabled as I can select to enter a start time (installer got that part right)
BUT... I think he also enabled cold start using the thermistor which is menu 2-5 either setting 2 or 4
ALSO menu 2-6 is enabled and is set to option 1 (default) cold starting every 3 hours
SO, what I need to do is ensure option 2-5 is set to 1 (default off)
I then need to change 2-6 to option 3 which is Reservation
WHOA... Now my head hurts!!
So lets see if I have this right
Hold F+Trunk Hold F+Key
Then key 5 times for 2-5 and then function for option 1???
Then wait awhile for system to exit programming...
Then
Hold F+Trunk Hold F+Key
Then key 6 times for 2-6 then lock for option 3???
Then I should be good to go...

First part is correct,
Hold F+Trunk until chirp
Hold F+Key until chirp
but second was not:
I did some tests since I wasn't sure how to select option 3, and came up with these buttons based on the chirps that came back when I pressed them:
Lock = Option 1 (one chirp)
Unlock = Option 2 (two chirps)
Trunk = Option 3 (three chirps)
Key = Option 4 (four chirps)
just make sure
"Then key 5 times for 2-5 and then *LOCK* for option 1???"
you really really
"Then key 5 times for 2-5, **WAIT** for 5 chirps, and then 2 more seconds, then tap *LOCK* for option 1" Tap it again if you don't hear the chirp.
it's easy to forget the wait part!
Every time you hold a key combination, the siren should chirp, if it doesn't, then it didn't register it, so you have to do it again.
I think if you choose a non-existent option, like I did 2-13 set to Trunk(3) it chirped 3 times, but really sets it to 2.. it doesn't give an error unfortunately.

And your second part will be
Hold F+Trunk until chirp
Hold F+Key until chirp
Then key 6 times, wait for 6 chirps, wait 2 seconds, then *TRUNK* for option 3.
I don't know which 2-way remote you have, but hopefully it will work the same.. I have a 901SS one mile remote. I tested this programming with the turbo timer feature and I can say for sure this is selecting menu 2.

Also, there is no wait for exiting programming in between setting options, as soon as you get it right, it exits.
It's all a timed process, if you get it wrong, you'll hear siren for 2 seconds, and exists automatically, no change applied.
If you don't hear siren for 2 seconds, you did it right :)

YOU ARE THE BEST!!!
I just set my turbro timer to what I wanted (1min)
I do believe I have the TIMED starting set correctly too!!!
The testing you did is correct LOCK is option 1, TRUNK is option 3...
I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH!!!
I just hope I counted correctly and didn't change anything else
I will have to test tommorw to make sure it's not starting every 3 hours, but it did flash the 3 times for option 3...
(reservation start, not based on cold start, set to runtime, in my case 45mins)
THANKS A MILLION!! I know this will help alot of people with the new style remote!!
By the way I do have the 901SS with 1 mile range, but with all the buildings in the way I wasn't able to remote start within a mile....

You're welcome, I'm glad you got it working and didn't have to go to your installer again! This should be basic stuff, but unfortunately the instructions are missing for this remote.
If you don't think you counted right you can always do it again, and count the light flashes instead of the chirps. The flashes are very slow compared to the chirps.
I think it expects the option # after the lights stop flashing anyway, so better count them, and once they stop, only then press the button for the option you want.

I think I got all the options I wanted, just hope I didn't change another one by accident...
My system does not do the chirps... I even tried enabling this and it wouldn't work?
Does the installer have to wire to the horn circuit? If so I don't think he did or the system (remote start only) Startit system NO alarm features...?
Now if a member does a search this info will be just what they need for the new 901 SS

Yes the StartIt has no siren. Installer has to install a siren, and get wires through the firewall. I got a hood pin and siren installed as part of the deal.
Most of the cost is in the remotes, there isn't a huge difference between the startIt and maxIt 'brain' .. I'd recommend the full system for the small price difference.

What advantages does the Maxit system offer? I told the installer all I wanted was #1 RANGE and just a starter.

You get an alarm as well with siren, shock sensor, and monitoring of doors/trunk/hood. If they're going to all the trouble to put in the starter I figure why not add this too.. I was charged about $100 for the install, I doubt remote start only is much less.
