I hooked up the unlock and lock out puts to the alarm, the factory alarm will lock the doors but not unlock them. I probed the wires, white for unlock and GREEN/ YELLOW for lock, when I probe the white wire it unlocks the doors. When I tested the alarm output ulock wire it also read -12v which should be right, when I reconnected it to the clifford it won't unlock the doors. The lock side works fine. I don't understand, when I have the test light on a ground and touch the white wire it unlocks the doors, but why doesn't it work when I connect the alarm wire? Please help, I want to finish this freakin car

You may need to boost the negative signal coming from the alarm. Use a single SPDT relay and wire like this DIAGRAM and post your results.

The circuit is reading 11.98 volts when activated. Also tested the normally open circuit form the alarm output and it goes down to about .28 ohms. Could it possibly be the latch time?

If it's reading 12 volts (+) then you have a (+) type system not a (-) trigger system. What year, make & model vehicle is this ?

oh yeah, does anybody know if there is a wire to disarm the factory alarm but not unlock the doors? I would like to use it for the remote start. Also if I hook the alarm unlock output to the unlock wire( not the white one) it will unlock the doors, but this wire doesn't turn off the factory alarm like the white one I am talking about. My car is a 97 Toyota Supra TT 6-speed and the alarm is the Clifford Avantguard 4.

no the voltage is 12 volts when I connect one end to the - output of the alarm and one end to a positive source. I am going to try a relay now, I will post my results later. Does anyone know what wire is to disarm the factory alarm but not unlock the doors?

Just tried a relay and it doesn't work. The only thing I noticed is that if I put a voltage meter + on a positive source and the negative on the factory alarm unlock wire it reads 11.89v. But when I leave the + on the same source and put the - to a chassis ground the meter reads 12.18v. Could this be my problem, should there be some resistance in this circuit? Does the test light have enough resistance to trigger the right amount of current? Could this be the factory disarm without ublock circuit?

Does the Clifford alarm have priority door unlock and you chose the wrong wire ? Check this out first and post your results .
