I bought a 5704 and got to the door lock part and...

Unlock works, sends a negative to the door unlock wire.

Lock doesnt work, it sends 3 volts out.

Any ideas whats up?  Thanks in advance.

Ben

Did you verify that you have the correct lock wire in the car... I show green in kick panel for lock...

ive got the correct wires in the car.  it s the alarm thats putting out 3 volts.  it should be a negative pulse, right?  The unlock wire from the alarm puts out a negative pulse and unlocks correctly.

actually a vipers outputs are positive and negative, each wire does both . the green lock wire is negative for lock but it is positive for unlock. are you testing the wire by itself or are you testing it while it is hooked to the cars lock wire?

Anyone?  Its driving me crazy.  Also the only output on the alarm for the trunk release is negative.  Do i need to program it to change to positive or do i need a relay.  The trunk release is positive in the car.

Relay for trunk release. Hook up the door lock and test it attached to the wire.
