Does anyone know if this vehicle has a immobilizer in it? I have checked I-datalink and Fortin for a bypass and none of them list anything for the 2000 Volvo S-40. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Bri

The European version does.
Ways to check:-
Security light on instrument cluster? Should go out when you turn the key.
Plastic housing around the ignition switch barrel with two wires .
Attempt to hot wire with key removed away from car.
If there is a 556U will disable it.
I actually doubt it. This vehicle was a joint production with Mitsubishi and was based on a Mitsubishi vehicle.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

But the New Excalibur product that you plug into the cigrette lighter and actually jams the immobilizer if there is one and the car wont start. Pretty sweet little tool.
