Using a PKALL and 4103 avital. Just using the Pkall for transponder bypass. It says to use atleast software version 3.0 or newer. I had a Pkall laying around But it has software version 2.01. Will it work or will I have to have it flashed to the newest software to work. Im not a DEI dealer so Im not set up to flash them. I can do idatalinks but I want to use this last PKALL that I have. thanks
Ryan

I could be wrong but I don't think the PKALL will work for this installation. I don't see it listed on Xpresskit's website.

But if it is compatible and it says you need version 3 or newer, then you will need to update it before using it.

You don't need to be a DEI dealer to update the PKALL but do need an XK Loader to update the PKALL.

Its the same as a 2002 Blazer. Check it out. I dont have a XKloader Maybe I will have to pick one up. Will I be able to flash dballs without being a dealer?

Yep you can flash any of their modules (including the DBALL) without a DEI account. I did it for the longest time. You only need an account to get access to Directechs for vehicle wiring. You need the XKloader2 and download the software to flash the modules.

I have an acct with ADS for the iDatalink modules and use them primarily but used to install DEI modules for a while prior. I just prefer iDatalink way better.

DEI modules are the way to go. I might have to pick up a XKloader and set up account. Just in case ya know..

Long Day Syndrome?? LoL posted_image

I used to be a DEI only person a while back because that's all I was used to. And I don't hate their stuff, it's just frustrating when you are done installing and about to program the bypass module and it doesn't work correctly. That's wasted time and money. I've encountered too many issues with programming and decided I'm shopping elsewhere.

I just find that iDatalink works great, the first time, every time and far superior than the DEI modules. Fortin is my 2nd choice.

But once in a blue, I will use a DEI module since they sometimes have convenience features that iData doesn't have for a particular vehicle.

I have one of each USB flasher (DEI, Fortin, iDatalink) since you never know when you will need it. Like you said, just in case.
