Googling around I see 556u is the recommended immobilizer. I bought a 555x on eBay and they seller listed the 555x as being compatible, but I am not seeing and wires listed in the forum's wiring diagram
https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/alarmdetail/1287.html.
Seller suggests these wires:
Color :RED / white (data), RED / black (clock), red (synchro)
Polarity: data
The immobilizer ignition wire is white and the ground reference wire is WHITE/ black.
Any suggestions? Thnks in advance.
Do yourself a favor and use an ADS TBSL TI from idatalink. They are much more reliable and won't require a key in the box like the 556u. The TBSL-TI comes pre-flashed with the correct firmware (TB-TL).

If this is for a DEI 555X, not a 556UW, here is the info you seek.
Here is a link to the 555XW info from Xpresskit. It does list the 2000 Lexus LS400 :
https://www.xpresskit.com/product.aspx?productid=39
Below is a wire color list from iDatalink for their bypass module. Unfortunately they use different names for the wires.
LS 400 98-00 555X name
AMP pin 1 White (DATA) Ignition switch
Code pin 2 RED / White (DATA) Ignition switch = Data
RXCK pin 3 RED / Black (DATA) Ignition switch = Clock
TXCT pin 4 Red (DATA) Ignition switch = Synch
Ground pin 5 WHITE/ Black (-) Ignition switch = Ground
Key Sense pin ~ Yellow (-) Ignition switch = Keysense
Ignition (+) White @ Ignition harness
Think that should be enough info to get it working.
Here it is laid out like the 555X chart on page 2 of the guide :
Vehicle SYNCH CLOCK DATA IGNITION GROUND KEY SENSE
00 LS400 Red RED / Black RED / White White WHITE/ Black Yellow
