Hi all. Long time lurker here. I have installed many audio systems in my cars throughout the years, and am currently attempting my first alarm/remote start. I am installing a Viper 5704 with a DB-All interface module. I wired up the system as per the instructions that i found for the DB-All. When i plugged in the power for the alarm, there was a short inside the DB-all and i fried the unit. I am wiring the system D2D and i think the issue is that i had the 12V power and ground wires on the DB-ALL stripped as i wasnt sure if they were needed and i think the were crossed when i plugged in the D2D cable. i tested the power coming from the alarm to the DB-All and am seeing 12V on the hot conductor and the alarm brain itself seems to be working correctly. I have a couple questions before i re install another DB-all so i don't screw it up again.
1. Am i correct in my understanding that when using D2D i dont need to hook up the 12V power and ground direct to the DB-ALL as it is powered from the D2D cable?
2. Could having these 2 wires crossed cause the DB-All to burn up like that?
3.I attached screenshots below of the wires i currently have hooked up. Does it look like i need to hook up anything else when using the DB-ALL for basic keyless entry and remote start?
Thanks,
Peter
Hello Peter!
Q1. Yes, the DB-ALL obtains it's power thru the D2D harness.
Q2. Not sure, never tried to burn up a DB-ALL before.
First, ensure that the DB-ALL is flashed with the 2010 Honda Accord correct firmware, 401.Honda56 v1.47.
Next , make sure the Viper's Parking Light Jumper/Fuse is set to the correct polarity. ( I usually use the (-) Gray
Parking Light wire at the headlight switch and you should too, if you are connecting the (-) Arm wire to this wire
for AutoHeadlights.)
Wire omissions :
H3/2, H3/6 and H3/9 all must connect to +12V constant power ( White @ Ignition Harness ).
Program the Viper to Flex Relay = ACC2 ( Menu 3, Item 8, Opt 2 ) and connect H3/7 to the Accord's Red ACC2 wire.
The DB-ALL supplies the Viper with a Tach signal via D2D so Program the Viper to Tach Mode ( Menu 3, Item 2, Opt 4 )
and do a Tach Learn.
The DB-ALL will supply the Viper with a Hood Pin Status signal if the car is Factory equipped with that sensor, so
the Hood Pin wire, H2/17 might not be necessary.
If H2/3 is used for the Rear Defroster, program the Viper accordingly. If it is being used for Keysense, the Viper default
setting is OK.

Thank you so much for your concise answer. I made the additions you noted above and picked up a new DB-ALL this AM and everything is working perfectly! Two more questions if i may:
As it sits now, my radio turns on when the vehicle is remote started. I am using the Honda OEM headunit with an Audison processor and Alpine amp. Any way i can wire it up so the radio isnt on when the vehicle is remote started? maybe tap my remote wires in from somewhere other than where they are now (switched 12v at radio)?
Is there any way to wire the hood pin in as an alarm trigger? I installed the hood pin that came with the 5704 and it works correctly to kill the remote started when the hood is popped. How can i also make this a trigger for the alarm?
Thanks again!
On your hood pin question, it should already be as a alarm trigger for the alarm. Try to arm the 5704 and then open the hood see if it set off the alarm.

If you don't want the radio on during remote start, you might try disconnecting the Viper H3/7 Pink/White wire
going to the vehicles Red ACC2 wire (if you added it ). Haven't played with a 2010 Accord to find out exactly what
is powered by each Accessory wire. One, probably the Orange, you need because it does the Heat & A/C and fans.
