I need to update the firemware on a cm6000 to gain some features which will be used.  I do not own an op500.  Is there any way I can do this rather inexpensilvely, maybe buying a cable to go directly to a pc?

You might be able to update and change features on the idatalink website. That would require the use of their programming cable (ADS-USB) and a dealer account (or know someone who does). I know a lot of the newer model Compustars (6200's) can be updated and modified right from their site. Otherwise, you would need the OP-500.

You can update that way but you will need to insert a blade module to do that.
