I am installing a 5904 Viper alarm and remote start system in my 72 GMC pickup. The truck is a ground up rebuild about 90% complete. A new wiring harness is installed and seems to be working as it should. I have installed the viper system and had all the functions working including the remote start. The shock and the field disturbance sensors had not been installed. The is being worked on in other areas as it is not ready to be driven. I start the truck occasionally just for the hell of it. I haven't cranked it in a few days. The only work done on the alarm was the hooking up of the shock sensor. Without knowing it I adjusted the senor past it's limit and it went dead. I realized what I had done, adjusted the sensor back in the normal range and it was working fine. Just for the hell of it I hit the remote start button and got a "toggle switch off" prompt. I re checked the toggle switch and neutral safety wire and everything seemed fine. I bypassed the switch moved the neutral safety wire to a new location checked the wires third and forth time. Feeling desperate I open the brain and jumped the toggle contacts and grounded the neutral safety position on the circuit board, hit the remote start button and got the "toggle switch off" prompt again. I don't have a clue at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated. All other alarm functions seem to work fine. I don't know if this matters in anyway but i typically disconnect the battery if I'm not at the shop.

Here is the update.  If I ground the toggle the remote starts right up.  The nuetral safety seems to be okay although the brain is not sending a negative signal to the toggle.  Is there a reset on the viper brain?

Any ideas would help!

Thanks

I didn't really fix it. I simply provided a new ground to the switch. The problem is in the brain. I hope this helps

What you have done is give ground to the switch wire right? I'll try as soon as u confirm it.

Is this 72 GMC pickup a carb engine? If so you wont be able to get a good reliable start everytime.
