Self installed a Viper 5704 and have everything working except the keyless entry.  The volvo 960 has a central locking system so all doors are controled by the drivers door.  I purchased a 524N lock actuator and have it installed in the drivers door, I then connected it to the blue and green wires for the door lock on the viper brain.  My thinking was that the brain would fire the actuator, which in turn would control all the rest of the locks.  The installation instructions are not that great and I'm sure whatever I missed is "stupid" simple but I would still appreciate any help.  Thanks!

Where's Howie when you need him?

Think you need a DEI 451M module to interface the Viper to the 524N actuator.  If it is just the solenoid actuator, it needs +12 V @ 10 Amps and chassis ground to work.  Here is a link to the 451M door lock module :  https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/file.asp?ID=726

Yes, either 451M or two regular relays. 451M is a little neater-looking and has instructions.

Older units from DEI/Viper had "flip-flop" lock/unlock outputs, where one would make a positive at the same time the other would make a negative.

I don't think the outputs would be strong enough to drive an actuator anyway. Maybe once or twice before burning out the outputs from the brain; I never tried it.

Either way, the flip-flop outputs are gone, and the green and blue wires just make negative pulses anyway.

See if DEI 451M Wiring Diagram D doesn't match up with what you need for your add-on lock actuator.
