2006 denali python rs and dball issues

I am having a problem getting my denali remote start. It will only remote start if I have the key in the on position. I soldered all connections. I followed the thread posted on the forum https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp~TID~133000~PN~1 to do the install.

I'm trying to run it d2d.

I wired the rs 8 pin-truck ignition:
     Orange-orange
      Pink-pink
      Red-red
      pink/white-white
      RED / black-brown
      Violet-yellow
      RED / white-RED / white

I also connected the brake switch and neutral safety input. Also verified that the neutral safety switch was on.

On the dball I have the violet / YELLOW ran to the purple data wire on the obd2.

RED / Black should go to Red or RED / White ( +12V constant).  You will need an extra 30/40 Amp SPDT relay for the Brown ACC2 wire ( if you want to power it ).

Did you flash the DB-ALL with the correct 401.GM4 firmware?
Did the DB-ALL program properly to the truck?

Thanks a lot! I was able to get the rs to work by moving the RED / black to a constant power source. Will the brown wire allow me to use the auxiliary features such as heated seats, windows?


Yes Best buy charged me 15.99 to flash it. They charged me for setting up a GPS. And it is programed to the truck.

Not sure of exactly which accessories are powered by the Brown ACC2 wire.

While it's not apples to apples ( iDatalink vs DB-ALL ) on the bypass module, I did test the 2003 Yukon
in the pictorial and it's ability to control the heated seats / defroster without the Brown ACC2 wire powered. 
It did turn on those functions during a remote start ( with engine temp below 32 degrees ).

Yours' should work too.  Just remember that you must program the DB-ALL to support this function.
See Page 5 of the DB-ALL install guide and Feature 3 Heated Seats ( factory default is disabled ).
Use Feature 4 to select a different temp, if desired.

Hmm that's interesting... I did have the guy at best buy turn those features on and I programed the unit. Maybe it just has not been cold enough yet. I know I have a lot to learn about remote functions. That's what makes it fun.

I don't think I've ever powered the brown wire on one of these trucks. Brown powers up the windshield wipers, and I'd rather keep them disabled during remote start.

Many features of these bypass modules are not well documented, or documented at all.

In the DBALL, you should see some settings that will activate the heated seats at various temperatures. There is no temperature sensor in the DBALL (that I'm aware of).

What they're (probably) doing is picking up temperature information from the car's data bus. Your Denali should have automatic climate controls, and therefore an interior temperature sensor that should have signals passing down the data bus.

However, many of these trucks have manual climate controls, and thus no interior temperature sensor.

I'm pretty sure that all of the modules on the market are monitoring engine temperature. So, not only does it have to be cold outside, but the engine has to be off for a long time.

It could be super cold outside, but if you start the engine and drive two blocks over to the coffee shop, even though the engine is still pretty cold, I'm sure it will be above 32 degrees or whatever the threshold is, and then the heated seats won't come on.

Big V8 engines take a while to cool down, too. Come home with the car hot, park and have dinner for two hours, remote start again to run an errand.....I'm also guessing the heated accessories wouldn't come on.
