I just had an AutoMate 553 installed in my 1998 Expedition. My running board lights used to illuminate when using the Ford Remote to unlock the doors. Now with this new alarm they dont light up when door is unlocked.
I asked the installer why this was and he told me that the new remote was on a different line and shouldn't have an effect on the running board lights.I spoke with the owner and he acted as though he knows all there is to know about alarms..Did anyone else ever hear of this problem?
Thanks in advance for any help...

do your parking lights flash with the new alarm????

i guessing you had the running board lights hooked up to your parking lights????

if so the new alarm should the same thing.

if your parking lights dont flash at all, then i would check the hook up.

that wont work cause then your running board lights would be on with the parking lights going down the road. what it probably works off of is the domelight does he have domelight supervision hooked up??

I put an alarm on my F150 and as long as you send a signal to the factory alarm to arm and disarm it will work the same way that it did.     Chuckles
